Harvey Weinstein was slapped with a civil lawsuit Monday charging him with sex trafficking and Oprah Winfrey was involved according to the NYPost’s Page Six!
An aspiring actress, Kadian Noble, says Harvey Weinstein used Oprah Winfrey and Naomi Campbell to dupe her into thinking he would help her with her career, only to use her for sex.
Noble, says the disgraced mogul used Oprah to lure her in before sexually assaulting her.
Noble’s lawsuit claims Weinstein first “groomed” her for the alleged assault in London, telling her that “he had a role in mind for her and that ‘it will be good for you.’”
She stated Tuesday that she was ‘head-over-heels’ impressed when she first met Weinstein at an event because he was hanging out with model Campbell and had megastar Oprah “swinging off his arm.”
Noble claimed he used Winfrey and supermodel Naomi Campbell to help to lure her to his hotel room in France where he allegedly assaulted her.
“I thought, obviously, this man has something amazing in store for me,” she said during a teary-eyed press conference in Manhattan to discuss the sex trafficking lawsuit she filed a day earlier against Weinstein in Manhattan federal court.
Instead, Weinstein used promises of career advancement to lure the actress to his hotel room in Cannes, France, where he forced himself on her, she said. “I felt completely played.”
Once inside his hotel room, Weinstein “began massaging Kadian and then gripped her shoulders,” the Manhattan federal lawsuit claimed. “He informed her that she needed to relax, and if she did, his people would have all of her details and would ‘take care of everything’ for her.”
He told Kadian to “walk up and down the room for him” as part of an “audition,” the lawsuit said. That’s when Weinstein pulled Kadian closer and “groped her breasts,” the lawsuit said.
Kadian also claims that Weinstein had called an “unnamed Weinstein Company producer in the US.” He proceeded to tell Kadian “that she needed to be ‘a good girl and do whatever he wished.’
Weinstein pulled Kadian into the bathroom, where he forced himself on her, the lawsuit alleges.
She “told him to stop and attempted to leave the bathroom, but (he) blocked her exit,” the filing reads.
Oprah has maintained a close professional relationship with Harvey Weinstein over the past two decades.
More than 70 women have come forward with decades of sexual harassment and assault claims against Weinstein. Weinstein financially supported Oprah with mega-bucks for years, some concluding it was a tit-for-tat.
This week, musician Seal trashed Oprah Winfrey on social media calling her a “part of the problem for decades.”
This was just days after her widely praised speech at the Golden Globe Awards on sexual misconduct in Hollywood.
At the Golden Globes, as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille award, Winfrey proclaimed, “I want all the girls watching to know a new day is on the horizon. And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure they are the leaders to take us to the time where nobody has to say ‘me too’ again.”
In a fiery Instagram post Wednesday, Seal republished a pair of photos of Winfrey with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, including one in which she appears to be kissing the producer’s cheek. Overlayed on the photos, in all-caps, is the text: “When you have been part of the problem for decades, but suddenly they all think you are the solution.”
Seal added a sarcastic comment to the right of the photographs that suggested Winfrey knew Weinstein was mistreating women.
“Oh I forgot, that’s right…..you’d heard the rumors but you had no idea he was actually serially assaulting young stary-eyed actresses who in turn had no idea what they were getting into. My bad,” Seal wrote.
Juanita Broaddrick has also charged Oprah’ with knowledge of sexual assault, and staying quiet.
Broaddrick, a now-75-year-old retired nurse, states that former President Bill Clinton raped her during his 1978 campaign for Arkansas governor, and that his wife, Hillary Clinton, helped him cover it up.
“Hey @Oprah #GoldenGlobes,” Broaddrick tweeted Monday. “Funny I’ve never heard you mention my name. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?Guess not. My rapist was/is your friend, Bill Clinton.”
Been a long week for Oprah.
