Democrat Just Tried to Impeach President Trump and It Went Even Worse Than You Could Imagine

0

Well, as expected, when the Democrats don’t get their way, they do stupid things…like try to impeach the president. They never wanted this president and have done everything to block his policies and appointments. Typical Democrats.

On Wednesday though, their attempt to impeach President Donald Trump was easily defeated Wednesday in the House of Representatives.

Numerous Democrats joined the Republican majority to table the resolution introduced by Democrat Rep. Al Green of Texas. The House voted 364-58 to thwart Green’s impeachment effort.

According to the Washington Times,

“Legitimate questions have been raised about his (Trump’s) fitness to lead this nation. Right now, Congressional committees continue to be deeply engaged in investigations into the President’s actions both before and after his inauguration,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer said in a joint statement.

“The special counsel’s investigation is moving forward as well, and those inquiries should be allowed to continue. Now is not the time to consider articles of impeachment.”

What a joke! The Democrats have done nothing but try to spearhead a negative agenda – Trump-Russia collusion. All that they have done in return is show how they continue to waste taxpayer money chasing nothing down a dark hole.

As reported by The Western Journal, the plan for impeachment was introduced by Democrat Rep. Al Green.

During a speech on the House floor Wednesday morning, Green referenced famed author Robert Frost, saying that shortly after noon, he was going to take “the road less traveled.”

“Mr. Speaker, after 12 noon today, I will present articles of impeachment, and there are many who want to know what’s next, what will happen after there is a vote,” he said, before admitting that he does not yet have a response to those queries.

“I will satiate those concerns after the vote. But I will take the road less traveled, and I believe that it will make all the difference,” he added.

In a memo to colleagues, dated Tuesday, Green explained his plan in further detail.

“Tomorrow, I will bring a privileged resolution to impeach President Donald J. Trump to the floor of the United States House of Representatives for a vote,” the memo read. “As a privileged resolution, this vote will occur once the impeachment resolution is read twice on the floor.”

“As I have said before, this is not about Democrats, it is about democracy. It is not about Republicans, it is about the fate of our Republic. May everyone vote their conscience knowing that history will judge us all.”

In another letter he wrote to his fellow congressmen, Green said Trump’s “high misdemeanor” is that he is a “bigot in the White House who incites hatred and hostility.” Still, he admitted that impeachment would only be a “political remedy, not a judicial remedy.”

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Whatever!

Green blabbered on,

“For too long, we have allowed our civility to prevent us from confronting the invidious incivility of President Donald J. Trump.”

“In doing this, hatred disguised as acceptable political correctness has festered in our body politic and polluted our discourse to our detriment. It divides and damages the social fabric of our country in ways that obstruction of justice cannot. It causes unparalleled destruction to our society in the long- and short-term that will not easily heal.”

As you may or may not know, Green also previously introduced articles of impeachment against Trump. In fact, Green has called for Trump’s impeachment several times since he took office in January. In October, Green also introduced an article for Trump’s impeachment, but that proposal failed miserably. It never even made it to the floor.

Green later said he wanted to allow his colleagues more time to consider the legislation, but there was also Democratic pressure to hold off the efforts.

He signed on to an article of impeachment filed by Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) in July that argued Trump obstructed justice by firing James Comey as FBI director amid the agency’s investigation of whether his campaign colluded with the Russian government.

Green previously threatened to file a privileged resolution to impeach Trump in June if he ousted Robert Mueller, the special counsel now overseeing the FBI’s investigation.

Under House rules, any member can file what is known as a “privileged” resolution that argues something goes against the dignity and integrity of the House.

Even if Republicans reject it, Green can still force a procedural vote on his resolution.

I guess Green just doesn’t get it. Neither do any of the Democrats. And they wonder why people are leaving the Democrat party? Get real!

What is it that Democrats have against ‘Making America Great Again’? Total idiots!
