According to California Representative Jackie Speier (D), $15 million of our hard earned tax dollars have been legally covering the behinds of those we elected to serve. That’s right. One creep at a time.
Pretty disgusting if you ask me. Why should Americans have to pay for the lawsuits of these perverts? If they want to be a creep, let them pay for their OWN lawsuits.
In addition Speier’s it seems is planning to introduce a second bill this week that seeks to create greater transparency by listing offices that have complaints and their outcomes, as well as the monetary amount for all settlements. Right on! Publish a public creep list!
There should be transparency of each and every creep! Speaking of creeps…
We all know that Washington, DC is a swamp, but it seems there is actually a known ‘creep list’ too that circulates around those that work on the Hill. How disgusting is that?!
It’s an unwritten list of lawmakers and Capitol Hill staffers who are, well, known for being total creeps and exhibiting unwanted sexual behavior.
This so called ‘creep list’ is an informal roster passed along by word-of-mouth, consisting of the male members most notorious for inappropriate behavior, ranging from making sexually suggestive comments or gestures to seeking physical relations with younger employees and interns.
One media outlet spoke with more than 50 lawmakers, current and former Hill aides and political veterans who have worked in Congress, the majority of whom spoke anonymously to be candid and avoid potential repercussions. With few exceptions, every person said they have personally experienced sexual harassment on the Hill or know of others who have.
A ‘creep list’, how sad is that? We send people to Washington to ‘represent’ us and some of these scumbags turn around and repay us, by thinking they can act like Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein a total creep, and be the ‘Weinsteins of DC’. How sick is that? But what’s worse is, you and I have been funding their lawsuits with a cost up to now of $15 million bucks. One creep at a time.
That’s right. Some of our representatives act like creeps or pervs. They get sued and we (the taxpayers) foot THEIR bill. It’s hush money. The victims get silenced in return for our tax dollars. Do representatives REALLY think this is ‘money well spent’? Come on man! Americans do not want a creep fund!
Allegedly there are also unsaid rules that are going around too.
Be extra careful of the male lawmakers who sleep in their offices — they can be trouble. Avoid finding yourself alone with a congressman or senator in elevators, late-night meetings or events where alcohol is flowing. And think twice before speaking out about sexual harassment from a boss — it could cost you your career.
The thing is, a lot of these young, female interns don’t report the abuse, because they reciprocate in hopes that it’ll land them a good job. It’s so bad that some describe it as a “sex trade on Capitol Hill.”
“Amongst ourselves, we know,” a former staffer told CNN.
Personally, I want these people to name names. If this is really going down, they should expose the pervy lawmakers. One creep at a time. But that’s the thing. Many of them won’t, because they’d have to admit that they’re going along with it willingly.
That’s not victim-blaming. That’s just reality. Welcome to ‘how to get ahead on Capitol Hill’. Ok, maybe…’how to get a…’ No…I won’t go there.
So, we have all the news about Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and his crude and pervert behavior. Even though several actors tried to tell us years ago about Harvey’s inappropriate sexual behavior, they were threatened they would be ‘blackballed’ in Hollywood. Since then, it seems like it’s been the pile on effect not only in Hollywood, but across the nation. The thing is the statute of limitations is long past for many of these pervs, so I doubt not much will be done other than their public embarrassment.
I used to think Americans expected a higher level of servants to represent them in Washington. But it seems that this moral corruption is like a cancerous disease spread throughout America. It even turns out that some of the representatives we send to Washington, DC are also part of the problem and infected with the disease or sickness of pervertedness.
Some of our representatives in Washington, DC are really not that much different than the creep, Harvey Weinstein and those in Hollywood? We might as well call them the ‘Harvey Weinstein’s of DC’. Sick and perverted.
But we shouldn’t have to pay for their lawsuits should we?! Come on man! Stop the insanity. Stop the funds and make the creep list public!
