Hollywood liberals should just keep their mouths shut. When they mix politics with business it never ends well. When will they get that?
A Planned Parenthood donation prank involving Vice President Mike Pence has ended badly for Mila Kunis, with conservatives boycotting one of her sponsors — Jim Beam — and giving similar gifts in her name to conservative organizations.
The whole thing began when Kunis was on Conan O’Brien’s TBS show last week and discussed a prank she had pulled on the vice president.
“I apologize if I’m offending anybody. It’s not so much a prank as much as I disagreed with some of the stuff that Pence was doing and was trying to do,” Kunis told the crowd.
“And so as a reminder that there are women out there in the world that may or may not agree with his platform, I put him on a list of recurring donations that are made in his name to Planned Parenthood.”
Here’s Mila Kunis on ‘Late Night with Conan O’Brien”:
“Every month, to his office, he gets a little letter that says like, ‘An anonymous donation has been made in your name.’ I don’t look at it as a prank, this is like, I strongly disagree, and this is my little way of doing it,” Kunis rationalized. “It’s a peaceful protest.”
Hee-larious. Well, it’s probably not so peaceful for the unborn babies, but hey, whatever. What harm could possibly be done, right?
Well, plenty — starting with the fact that Kunis is a spokeswoman for Jim Beam, the whiskey you bring to a party when you don’t like the host enough to spring for Jack Daniels.
It didn’t take long after the episode for #boycottjimbeam to start trending on Twitter.
Since #MilaKunis injects politics into her acting career, I’ll be rejecting .@JimBeam this year.#BoycottJimBeamhttp://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2017/11/04/mila-kunis-donations-planned-parenthood-mikes-pences-name-spurs-jim-beam-boycott/ …
Actually, it would be better to just stop patronizing the products she endorses: pic.twitter.com/c7kKyHQqPP
And, as Kunis found out, two can play at the fake-donation-in-someone’s-name game. Or, well, a lot more than two; The Daily Wire reported others made donations in Kunis’ name to pro-life groups and the National Rifle Association.
#BoycottJimBeam I can’t support a company whose spokeswoman cannot leave POLITICS out of selling Whiskey. I was just about ready to buy
Just in time for the holiday season, I will be #BoycottJimBeam due to their support of a spokesperson supporting PP who kills babies.
Turns out Mila is just another Hollywood skank!
The Pro-Lifers Respond:
Pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List decided they’d kick-off an initiative where pro-lifers could donate to their cause in Pence’s name as a response to Kunis. The Vice President, in a clear nod to the controversy, jumped on board.
“We’re now accepting donations to the pro-life cause in Vice President Mike Pence’s name. Let’s take a stand for life,” announced the president of Susan B. Anthony List.
I’m honored. Thanks for all @SBAList does for life. I’m in. https://twitter.com/marjoriesba/status/926934764036284416 …
“I’m honored. Thanks for all [Susan B. Anthony List] does for life. I’m in,” wrote Pence, captioning the pro-life group’s tweet.
Vice President Pence is a firm pro-life advocate. He is the first sitting vice president to have addressed the annual March for Life event held on the National Mall each year on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade.
