On Friday, Fox News announced the release of former Fox News host Eric Bolling. Sadly on Friday evening, Eric Bolling’s only son, Chase, 19, committed suicide. His body was found near his college campus in Boulder, Colorado. Details of his death are unclear, although some sources have alleged drugs may have been involved.
H/T The Hill:
Bolling tweeted about his son’s death Saturday afternoon.
Adrienne and I are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Eric Chase last night. Details still unclear. Thoughts, prayers appreciated.
The elder Bolling had been a rising star at Fox News, where he had hosted the now cancelled television program, The Specialists and was a regular panelist on The Five. His ten year career was undone by a sexual harassment scandal. The Fox News Network announced only yesterday that they had officially severed ties with Bolling.
The cause of Bolling’s death has not been confirmed. Fox News shared their condolences in a statement on Saturday.
“We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Eric Bolling’s son,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement.
“Eric Chase was a wonderful young man and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bolling family.”
Eric Chase Bolling was found just hours after his father was let go by Fox News amid sexual harassment allegations.
HuffPost reporter Yashar Ali broke the news of his death Saturday. Ali is being sued by Eric Bolling for $50 million for damages and injunctive relief based on defamation related to his reporting of sexual harassment allegations.
Very sad news, Eric Bolling’s son, who was only 19, died last night. By all accounts, Eric was incredibly devoted to his son. Heartbreaking.
@ericbolling To my dear friend, please know we all love you, will be here for you and your family.
Just heard that Fox colleague and friend @ericbolling 19 yr. old son died; Prayers for Eric and family.
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how devoted you were to your son. I cannot fathom how difficult this must be.
Eric Chase Bolling was born in 1998 and was Adrienne and Eric’s only child. His death came just “hours after his father was forced out at Fox News Network. Unofficially, 19-year-old Eric Chase Bolling, Jr. may have taken his own life on Friday night after hearing the news of his father. Chase was an Economics student at the University of Colorado-Boulder.”
As a parent, I can’t imagine any worse feeling than losing a child. For Eric Bolling and his wife, their extended family and friends, it has got to be one of the most gut wrenching events that I could ever imagine.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Eric Bolling, his wife and family and all those touched by this tragic event.
