11-Year-Old Boy’s Wish Fulfilled, to Mow the White House Lawn!

Kids these days sometimes seem to lack a solid work ethic and usually aren’t saving any money in the bank. They are usually busier playing video games and spending their money the minute they get it in their little hands.

But for one 11-year-old, the entrepreneurial spirit is already alive and well. Frank Giaccio, from Virginia, runs his own lawn mowing business and saves the money he makes. He is currently saving up for a new leaf blower to help him through the fall, though he told Fox New’s Jesse Watters that he also has his eye on a lego set.

Frank loves a good manicured lawn so much that he took to writing President Trump offering to mow the White House lawn. His letter was read partially by Sarah Huckabee Sanders during a White House press briefing. It said:

“Dear Mr. President, it would be my honor to mow the White House lawn for some weekend for you. Even though I’m only 10, I’d like to show the nation what young people like me are ready for. I admire your business background and have started my own business. I have been mowing my neighbors’ lawns for some time … Here’s a list of what I have and you are free to pick whatever you want: power mower, push mower, and weed whacker. I can bring extra fuel for the power mower and charged batteries for the weed whacker,”

This week, his dream came true. Not only did he get to mow the White House lawn, but he was visited by Trump himself!

Trump later tweeted “Frank “FX” Giaccio – On behalf of Melania & myself, THANK YOU for doing a GREAT job this morning! gives you an A+!”

“Eleven-year-old yard services entrepreneur Frank Giaccio locked down his biggest client ever Friday morning, mowing the White House lawn on the invitation of President Trump.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted a photo of Giaccio taking care of business Friday morning.

“Frank is hard at work in the Rose Garden and doing a great job!” she wrote.

Sanders announced earlier this week that “Frank from Falls Church, Virginia” would help the grounds crew cut the Rose Garden grass.

Trump accepted the Virginia boy’s offer after he wrote to the president saying it would be his “honor to mow the White House lawn.” Giaccio, who was 10 when he wrote the letter but has since turned 11, also enclosed a menu of his services, which include weed-whacking.

Giaccio told Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” earlier Friday, “So far it’s pretty much the best day of my life.”

The White House later tweeted a photo of Trump walking alongside Giaccio on the lawn.”

The White House lawn covers 18 acres. The grounds are cared for by the National Park Service. According to whitehousemuseum.org,

“The grounds and garden crew consists of 13 regular staff. The chief horticulturist is on the Executive Residence staff. The other 12 are National Park Service staff: 3 foremen, 8 gardeners, and 1 maintenance operator. Additional Park Service personnel can be called in for more infrequent work on trees, roads and trails, maintenance, and outdoor plumbing and electrical service.”

Thankfully, Frank only mowed a portion in the Rose Garden or I think the poor kid would have been there forever! What a honor for him to be allowed to fulfill his dream and meet the President. It’s no wonder he said it was the best day of his life!

I love a story that shows us President Trump’s softer side and surprising a kid like this is just amazing. Who knows where Frank will end up in the future, but with a work ethic like this at 11, I think it’s safe to say this kid is going places!
