Minnesota Is Pushing Gender Identity Debate on Kindergartners!

Ah, it’s that time of year again.  School is starting.  Eager students are beginning the year with their spongy brains all set to soak up all the wonderful knowledge their teachers can impart.

This year, in Minnesota, in addition to reading, writing and arithmetic, students as young as kindergarten will get even more! Minnesota will give them an education on the incredibly important topic of transgenderism! This is thanks to new guidelines put in place for teachers to impart a liberal agenda on 5 year olds.

This is pretty sick.  The government has no business imparting their political agenda on these innocent minds.  Many students surely come from homes where a different set of values is taught.  As a matter of fact, isn’t there a sizable Muslim population in Minnesota?  I wonder if they may have a problem with this? It’s always so interesting to see when liberal teachings conflict (and they look the other way).  Then again, perhaps only Christian students will be forced to comply with the new guidelines.

H/T  The Daily Signal reports that this summer the Minnesota Department of Education adopted a set of guidelines called “A Toolkit for Ensuring Safe and Supportive Schools for Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Students.”  Highlights include not referring to the class as “girls and boys” but rather in more general terms.  Teachers are told to refer to the class as “students” or “scholars.”  No more Prom King and Queen, instead, “Prom Ambassadors.”  Teachers must use the child’s pronoun of choice and allow the child to use the bathroom of their choice.  Teachers must also correct other students who may not follow the guidelines.  Alarmingly, teachers who do not follow the guidelines by encouraging confused “scholars” can be found in violation of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

The full guide can be found here.

The guide begins by discussing alarming statistics about how transgendered and gender nonconforming students are treated.  It explains the struggles they have feeling comfortable in the school environment.  Of course, any cruelty or harassment towards these confused kids is obviously wrong and should be discouraged, as it should with any student.  But what about the Christian little girl who is forced to change in the locker room with a confused boy? Or the adolescent Muslim boy who is forced to use the bathroom with a confused girl? Where is the accommodation for their beliefs?  Where is the acceptance for their feelings?  Why aren’t they allowed to feel uncomfortable?

Further, the guidelines state that participation in sports in based upon the gender identity of the student and not on gender assigned at birth.  At this point, why not just have fully co-ed sports?  The last guideline is the icing on the cake.  Are you ready for this?  The guidelines state that for hotel stays associated with school activities, students are to room together based on their gender identity.  When hell freezes over, only then will my son will be forced to stay in a hotel room with a girl who thinks she is a boy.

The world has gone insane.
