First it was the Redskin, then it was Robert E. Lee, and now liberals want to destroy ALL Confederate monuments including the Carvings at Stone Mountain in Georgia!
The battle over America’s Confederate history reignited following the weekend’s deadly events in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The protest against the scheduled removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee led leftist organizations and politicians to step up their long-running war on Confederate monuments.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams called for the removal of the giant carving that depicts three Confederate war leaders on the face of state-owned Stone Mountain, saying it “remains a blight on our state and should be removed.”
“We must never celebrate those who defended slavery and tried to destroy the union,” Abrams said in a series of tweets posted early Tuesday, a response to the deadly violence sparked by white supremacist groups in Charlottesville, Va.
Removing the faces of Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson would take a monster of a sandblaster and require a change in state law. The Georgia code has a clear mandate for the memorial, saying it should be “preserved and protected for all time as a tribute to the bravery and heroism of the citizens of this state who suffered and died in their cause.”
Georgia leaders have embraced recent changes to distance the state from its Rebel history.
Gov. Nathan Deal quietly struck Confederate Memorial Day from the state’s official holiday calendar and removed the statue of a segregationist leader from the state grounds. State-issued license plates featuring the Rebel emblem have been altered, though only slightly. Statues and paintings of Confederate leaders in the statehouse are facing fresh criticism.
Liberals are not waiting either. They are turning to anarchy to accomplish their goal.
Protesters in Durham, North Carolina took matters into their own hands Monday, destroying a nearly century-old monument to the state’s civil war dead. More than 30,000 North Carolinians died fighting for Southern independence from 1861 to 1865, a figure representing around one-in-eleven white men in the state.
After tieing a “bungie-like cord” around the neck and arm of a Confederate soldier statue, protesters toppled it to the ground. Video shows the crowd screaming, kicking, and spitting on the contorted mass.

On Monday night, the Baltimore City Council passed a resolution calling for the immediate deconstruction of four Confederate monuments.
“These people were terrorists,” said City Councilman Brandon Scott. “They were traitors. Why are we honoring them?”
All four — the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Mount Royal Avenue, the Confederate Women’s Monument on West University Parkway, the Roger B. Taney Monument on Mount Vernon Place and the Robert E. Lee and Thomas. J. “Stonewall” Jackson Monument in the Wyman Park Dell — have been removed.
Boston Mayor Catherine Pugh said that ALL confederate memorials should be removed.
Black Lives Matter, another leftist movement that emerged in 2013 after the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, called Monday for all Confederate flags, statues, and groups to be illegal in the U.S.
After WWII, Germany outlawed the Nazis, their symbols, salutes & their flags. All confederate flags & statue, & groups should be illegal.
