What have we learned here folks? Well, you can take the Obama voter out of prison, but….
Allow me to give you EXHIBIT A:
A 49-year old Texan who was granted clemency by former President Barack Obama has now landed herself right back in prison. Word is she has repeatedly violated the terms to which she was to follow after her released from a previous life sentence.
That life sentence came from her being charged for a federal conviction of conspiracy to possess 50 grams or more of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, and various other drug related accounts. She is one of those prisoners that Obama was talking about when he said something along the lines of…they are just like me, they made some bad choices, and they want to change they just need mercy and a second chance.
She has now just be re-arrested because she stole $60 dollars worth of laundry detergent which she had allegedly planned to use to buy drugs, so no Obama, she didn’t need a second chance. What she needed was to feel the consequences to her actions, but Barack took that growth away from her…before she felt a thing.
The Bureau of Prisons released the Texas City woman on July 28, 2016 after President Obama granted her clemency. The now-former president granted clemency to hundreds of prisoners during his term of office – more than all of the past nine presidents combined, Breitbart News reported. Most of those had federal drug charges, including distribution.
“This defendant was literally given a second chance to become a productive member of society and has wasted it,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Ted Imperato said in a written statement. “She has clearly shown a willful disregard for the law and must face the consequences for her crimes and actions.”
In addition to the charge of theft, federal prosecutors said she violated other terms of her release including not showing up for scheduled supervisory meetings, failing to notify officials of her change of address, and failing to notify officials of losing her job.
Richardson managed to stay drug-free for a few months, her attorney Mark Anthony Diaz told the local newspaper. He said that once she relapsed on the drug which got her in trouble in the first place, she abandoned her family’s support and broke off contact.
Diaz said she did not receive drug addiction treatment while in prison. Federal Judge Keith P. Ellison confirmed that the Bureau of Prisons does not offer drug rehabilitation treatment for prisoners serving a life sentence.
So now Richardson has been ordered back to prison and she is going to serve 14 months. She will also be put into a drug rehabilitation treatment as part of her release conditions. Will any of this help? Maybe, and hopefully…but not necessarily. What this woman lacks is the confidence to change, the know how to do it, and the determination to try. Simply because people like Obama have enabled her to believe she cannot and should not have to do hard things.
Go away Obama…just go away and take your minions with you.
