I love snakes, but if that King Cobra snake got that close to my face I’d be halfway across the state by then! You, sir, are one brave soul!
Did anyone else lean back from the screen when that last snake said hello? lol
The agility of this cobra is terrifying.
Okay, there are major reasons for captive keeping and breeding of reptiles. More than one species has been brought from the brink of extinction in the wild due to hobby keepers discovering how to successfully breed in captivity, which led to programs to re-establish the species. Additionally, captive life for a snake is pretty damn good – they have a constant source of heat, and readily available food and water. The majority of breeds need extremely little space – many will even get over-stressed with too much. Just saying.
For those who don’t grasp just how insanely badass this is..this guy is telling off two of the most dangerous snakes in the entire world. Either one of them bites you, you WILL die within a few hours without treatment. In other words, don’t f*ck with them even if there is antivenin nearby, because it’ll be the worst day of your life even if it’s not your last. lol
Cobras are famous for the threatening hood at their neck. They spread the hood out when they feel threatened or angry. Their hood is made up of flaps of skin attached to long ribs. They are also able to lift their heads high up off the ground, which is not only kinda scary, but helps them to search for food. And just to make them a little scarier, they hiss loudly to scare off potential predators.
Look at the end when the snake gives him the “what did you just say human” look.
It’s saying I belong in the wild you stupid .. You get back into the cage!!!
Just a bit of information this is the ViperKeeper, he’s a very experienced keeper and treats all of his animals with the utmost respect. This is Elvis, his King Cobra. Viperkeeper’s snakes still have their venom and all of his reptiles are fully loaded and intact. Check out his youtube! Elvis absolutely has his fangs and his venom glands intact. They have over 150 venomous snakes in their collection and they are all ‘fully loaded.’ They don’t believe in mutilating snakes. The practice of venomoid (removing fangs and/or venom glands) is cruel and the snakes usually die a slow and painful death.
According to ViperKeeper King cobras are very intelligent snakes and are used to moving around in search of prey. They regularly allow Elvis out to explore his surroundings to keep him from getting bored. If the snake wanted to bite, he would have. He was just letting Al know who is boss! In case one of his snakes become aggressive in any way they have enough to take care of the issue completely or in the case of a severe envenomation, they have enough for a starter dose until the hospital can get more.
ViperKeeper is experienced and more or less can handle without a problem with his snakes. The main thing is to be calm, and being funny is a very good way to be calm, and to teach people, that maybe is one of his aims with these videos.
ViperKeeper has an extensive personal collection of some of the world’s deadliest snakes some of which are from zoos and reptile institutes.
The things you do in the name of science…scary but absolutely amazing!
