Trump’s First Piece of The Border Wall Is in Place… Here’s the Best Part!

How many times did we hear people shout “Build The Wall” while Trump was campaigning? Well, things are looking up folks! President Trump is building the wall and many are saying thanks to one more president.

That’s right! Believe it or not, the construction on the first 7 1/2 miles of steel wall completed along the Mexican border in Naco, Arizona was funded by a budget that was approved by former President Barack Obama. I’m guessing, he was in a hurry signing all the immunities and probably signed this by mistake or didn’t read what was actually in the budget.

H/T Conservative Tribune:

Trump is “using the current bill to get his priorities moving and put it down,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said at a news briefing in early May, according to a White House transcript. “To answer the question: It is currently being built in Naco, Arizona; Sunland Park, New Mexico; and we are going to be starting to do this in San Diego; El Paso; and Rio Grande Valley.”

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

The project was paid for by last year’s fiscal budget, which was given the thumbs up by Obama. It seems that the former president is fine with securing small areas of the border, but attacks anyone who wants to secure the entire country.

At 18 feet high, the new wall is meant to stop pedestrians from crossing into the United States unimpeded. It is replacing an older and far less effective fence, which was reportedly built from chain link and pieces of a military landing platform.

Border walls have come under heavy criticism by liberals, but security experts say that they work. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly is on record as saying that a wall is “the most effective way to keep people out, to stop drugs, to stop cartels, to stop human trafficking, and to prevent illegal immigration,” according to HeatStreet.

Despite the Democrats’ attempts to block Trump at every turn, the president is using a budget signed by this Democrat predecessor against them.

The Secure Fence Act, which President George W. Bush signed into law in 2006 with the support of many Democratic lawmakers, set aside money for fencing to cover one-third of the roughly 2,000-mile border between the U.S. and Mexico.

Legally the Secure Fence Act already gives the Trump administration the authority to build something new and bigger on land it purchased for the fence. A barrier resembling the kind of wall Trump promised during his campaign might be seen as an evolved version of the existing fence.

Personally, I’m for President Trump supporting Ted Cruz’s plan to make the crooks pay for the wall.  Use the money from the drug lords and criminals from Mexico who are caught sneaking into the United States with their drugs, like ‘El Chapo’.

Senator Cruz in April introduced the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act. The Act if passed would use the money forfeited from ‘El Chapo’ – almost $14 billion worth of profits and assets to pay for the wall itself. What a clever idea!  Afterall, as Senator Cruz states, $14 billion would go along way to funding and building a good portion of that wall and helping to keep America safe.

According to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) more than half of all the border apprehensions occurred in Texas, about 57 percent (235,567) of all 2013 southwest border apprehensions. That means that an estimated six out of every ten illegal immigrants arrested along the U.S.-Mexico border in 2013 were apprehended in Texas. In addition, CBP seized upwards of 4.3 million pounds of narcotics across the U.S. last year including 2.9 million along the U.S.-Mexico border. Furthermore, “the agency seized more than $106 million in unreported currency through targeted enforcement operations” nationwide, including $41.3 million along the U.S.-Mexico border alone. That was just in 2013!

Where did ALL that money go? Was it just absorbed into the government’s general budget? And what about the $4 billion that was already allocated to building the border wall, according to Rep. Gohmert (R-TX), where did that money go?  Who knows?

Bottomline is, the wall IS getting built…one way or another! As we have seen in the past, through President Trump’s actions, he is doing his best to keep his promises to the American voters. He said he would put a conservative on the SCOTUS and he did – Justice Gorsuch!  He said he would build the wall…and he will!
