Mother’s Day is just around the corner. For new mom’s, it’s especially nice to celebrate being a mother. Having a new baby on Mother’s Day is truly a heartwarming experience. The experience of being a mother is just a joy, but if you’re a grandmother, it’s an even bigger blessing!
Although you may not be a fan of Sarah Palin, she recently became a grandmother again. Her daughter, Bristol just gave birth to a baby girl. Many find Bristol Palin’s baby’s name to be especially unique, even with her other siblings being named Tripp Easton and Sailor Grace.
Sarah Palin is a grandmother, again, celebrating the arrival of a newborn girl into the Palin family on Mon. May 8. Keeping with the Palin baby-naming tradition, the baby’s name is unique — fitting in perfectly with older siblings Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston and Sailor Grace Meyer.
Together with her husband Dakota Meyer, Bristol Palin announced the birth of her third child, Atlee Bay, on Monday. Palin posted a photo of her newborn babe, swaddled securely in her mother’s arms, with proud Dad by her side.
Bristol Palin, public speaker and reality TV personality, first made her way into the public eye during her mother’s run for Vice President in 2008. At 17 years old, her teenage pregnancy made headlines across America despite protests from both sides of the campaign to leave candidate’s children alone.
Palin’s husband, Dakota Meyer, is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the War in Afghanistan. He received a Medal of Honor in 2009 and has written a book about his war experience.
Meyer and Palin, who cancelled their 2015 wedding plans, wed in the summer of 2016. The wedding was a quiet ceremony after the couple endured public rumors and whispers about their tumultuous relationship.
Atlee Bay is the couple’s second daughter together. She joins big sister Sailor Grace, who was born in Dec. 2015.
Bristol Palin also has an 8-year-old son, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, from a previous relationship with Levi Johnston. The pair broke it off in 2010.
Palin made pregnancy look like a breeze, showing off her pregnant belly just three weeks before her due date. The couple announced they were expecting a girl in March, joking that the girls would now outnumber the boys.
Sarah Palin shared the good news of Atlee’s birth on Facebook and her personal website. “What a happy day! Welcome to the world!” was the headline on Sarah Palin’s website on Monday.
“Babies are the best ingredient in our world, and we’re blessed to help welcome Atlee Bay to it,” Sarah Palin said. “The whole family couldn’t be more thrilled!”
The name Atlee has shot up 6000% on popular baby name website, Nameberry, this week. According to the site, Atlee is a variation of Atalanta, a mythological maiden.
Congratulations to Sarah and the Palin family. It looks like this Mother’s Day, the Palins will have an extra special bundle to celebrate. To Bristol and Dakota, may your new little girl, Atlee, bring you extra special blessings of joy this Mother’s Day.
And to all mothers around the world…including grandmothers and nanas….Happy Mother’s Day!
