Michael Moore is the perfect example of progressive hypocrisy. He rails against capitalism yet lives in a multi-million dollar mansion. But that doesn’t stop him from speaking out against other rich elites such as Donald Trump. This time though he is taking his criticism to the big screen. Michael Moore has teamed up with Harvey and Bob Weinstein for a new Donald Trump centered documentary. Moore will be the director and he threatens that it will dissolve Trump’s presidency.
The leading anti-Trump progressive said the following,
“No matter what you throw at him, it hasn’t worked. No matter what is revealed, he remains standing. Facts, reality, brains cannot defeat him. Even when he commits a self-inflicted wound, he gets up the next morning and keeps going and tweeting. That all ends with this movie.”
This is not Moore’s first documentary on the President. After the President’s Election Day win, Moore produced and directed a film called ‘Trumpland’ that focused on disenchanted voters who supported Donald Trump. He went to states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Ever since then, Moore has made some wacky statements that seem to come out of left field.
He urged Democratic politicians to issue a national emergency over the alleged connections between the Trump administration and the Russian government. He also argued that the administration’s policy on climate change began the extinction of human life on earth. To add insult to injury, in addition to this new documentary, Moore will be staging a one-man play on Broadway called ‘The Terms of My Surrender’. Once again an attempt to expose and humiliate the President.
The film’s production alongside Bob and Harvey Weinstein released the following statement about their joint project with Moore,
“There is no greater part of what we can do right now than to have the power to bring Michael Moore to a mass audience. When we had the opportunity to work with him on ‘Fahrenheit 9/11,’ we were so persistent that we ultimately had to part ways from Disney and we lost our beloved Miramax, named after our parents, because we believed so strongly in the message. The movie broke all records then, and we plan to do so again. This movie will have one of the most innovative distribution plans ever. Now more than ever, Michael’s appetite for the truth is crucial. We are ecstatic to be a part of this revolution.”
Moore received critical acclaim for ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ which targeted the Bush administration. But if he thinks that this new documentary will achieve that type of succes,s he might be hoping for something that will never come to fruition. President Trump has higher approval ratings than President Bush had and his support is far more widespread. In addition, the President’s supporters are far more ardent and loyal than we have seen in previous presidencies. This new documentary could very well do the opposite of what Moore wants.
Instead or exposing Trump for what he perceives he did wrong, it could instead bring his supporters even closer to the President in the long run.
