In a Reuters exclusive, President Donald Trump stated that a ‘major, major’ conflict with Kim Jong Un and North Korea is looming and could very well happen!
“There is a chance that we could end up having a major, major conflict with North Korea. Absolutely,” Trump tod the news organization.
Trump made the statement to Reuters in an Oval Office interview ahead of his 100th day in office on Saturday.
Nonetheless, Trump said he wanted to peacefully resolve a crisis that has bedeviled multiple U.S. presidents, a path that he and his administration are emphasizing by preparing a variety of new economic sanctions while not taking the military option off the table.
“We’d love to solve things diplomatically but it’s very difficult,” he said.
In other highlights of the 42-minute interview, Trump was cool to speaking again with Taiwan’s president after an earlier telephone call with her angered China. He also said he wanted South Korea to pay the cost of the U.S. THAAD anti-missile defense system, which he estimated at $1 billion.
He said he intended to renegotiate or terminate a U.S. free trade pact with South Korea because of a deep trade deficit with Seoul.Trump said he was considering adding stops to Israel and Saudi Arabia to a Europe trip next month, emphasizing he wanted to see an Israeli-Palestinian peace.
Trump said North Korea was his biggest global challenge. He lavished praise on Chinese President Xi Jinping for Chinese assistance in trying to rein in Pyongyang. The two leaders met in Florida earlier this month.
Obama created this mess with his “lead from behind and in weakness’ foreign policy. He decided that it was better to appease.
How many times do I have to repeat it? APPEASEMENT DOES NOT WORK! North Korea is proving that!
Hitler anyone? They tried appeasement with him and it DID NOT WORK!
Why didn’t Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler work? Neville gave Hitler EVERYTHING he asked for. In return he got a hand written piece of paper declaring that there will be “peace in our time.”
Totalitarian regimes like North Korea do not respect anything but strength. They see concessions as a sign of weakness, one they can exploit in order to continue their agenda whatever that may be.
I challenge everyone to read Winston Churchill’s response in the House of Commons to Neville Chamberlain’s foolish deal at the Munich Agreement of 1938. Thankfully it turned the tide of the British people from Chamberlains’s appeasement tactics.
The Roman Empire was effective at avoiding very expensive wars by paying small to moderate stipends to various kingdoms and tribal groups. That appeasement helped lead to it’s fall!
Former Muslim and anti-Jihad writer Ayaan Hirsi Ali appeared on Fox News Channel’s ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight‘ to explain:
“It doesn’t matter how nice the liberals are, how accommodating, how obliging they are,” the apostate said. “Whoever is in ISIS’ way is their enemy.”. It applies to Kim Jong baby face and North Korea as well.
“We empower them because every time we appease and appease and appease, they see that as God’s hand – their perception of God – they see God’s hand making it easy for them to advance
their agenda,” Ali said. “They don’t see that here is a decent, civilized society that is trying to understand them and give them time, and try to persuade them to put their weapons down. That is not how they see it.”
Obama appeased North Korea and now President Trump is having to clean up the mess. Obama might well be responsible for WW3
