Shortly after the chemical weapons attack in Syria the President launched a brigade of troops into the Korean peninsula. It was reported that U.S. Navy strike group Carl Vinson was actively moving to the Korean Peninsula instead of going to Australia on a previously planned trip. In response the North Korean dictator has said that they are ready for any mode of war desired by the United States after the show of force by our Navy.
In typical propaganda style a spokesman for the North Korean foreign ministry told reporters the following,
“The U.S. reckless moves for invading the DPRK have reached a serious phase. The DPRK is ready to react to any mode of war desired by the US. We will take the toughest counteraction against the provocateurs in order to defend ourselves by powerful force of arms.”
NPR reported that the Carl Vinson Strike Group is made up of several destroyers as well as the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier. It was reported by military officials they relocated to the Peninsula following the North Korean ballistic missile test. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson stated the goal with North Korea is to create a denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has been staunch in his stance that North Korea has become increasingly belligerent and that all military options are on the table in regards to relations. This includes expanding our nuclear weapons program. He told reporters the following,
“If they elevate the threat of their weapons program to a level that we believe requires action, that option is on the table. Let me be very clear: The policy of strategic patience has ended.”
North Korea has been looking to develop the missile capability to hit the United States on our shores. They have been actively testing their nuclear weapons in order to intimidate the United States and South Korea in direct violation of United Nations sanctions and International law.
It has been rumored they are approximately two years away from being able to achieve the capability of hitting American shores. President Trump has attempted to push China to more tightly control their friend and neighbor North Korea. They just send 150,000 troops to the North Korean and Chinese border line in the preparation for refugees they expect to flee the lines should the United States strike.
A foreign ministry official was quoted as saying the following on the Korean Central News Agency,
“We never beg for peace but we will take the toughest counteraction against the provocateurs in order to defend ourselves by powerful force of arms and keep to the road chosen by ourselves. We will hold the U.S. wholly accountable for the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by its outrageous actions, the country will not miss a chance to sweep the imperialist group with a nuclear fire of justice.”
President Trump has used his social media to denounce North Korea and called them out for looking to start trouble. He also has maintained that China should be taking a larger role in quelling them. But that will most likely not happen.
These latest developments in North Korea and Syria show that the Trump administration is not willing to stand by silently while world powers take advantage of us and try to push us to our limits. Unlike the Obama administration that “led” from behind Trump’s White House will be actively protecting our country and not taking any more of these unauthorized nuclear tests with a grain of salt.
