Nikki Haley Denounced Iran, Russia AND The U.N. In This Security Council Speech

0

The world was shocked when photographs and videos circulated the internet of a chemical weapons attack in Syria that mostly affected children. Nikki Haley, our U.S. United Nations Ambassador, appeared before the United Nations Security Council and vociferously denounced inaction to combat the Assad regime of Syria.

Haley rebuked Iran, Russia, and the United Nations inability to address the issue of chemical weapons and failing to hold anyone responsible. In a strong speech she said,

“The truth is, Assad, Russia, and Iran, have no interest in peace. The illegitimate Syrian government led by a man with no conscience, has committed untold atrocities against his people for more than six years. Assad has made it clear that he doesn’t want to take part in a meaningful political process.”

Mike Opelka of “Pure Opelka” defended Haley and gave her a ringing endorsement for her comments saying,

“I’m thrilled that we as a nation have this powerful and principled woman standing up for us and speaking on our behalf to the Security Council, to the United Nations, and demanding that something be done.”

People were enraged by the photographs as they depicted young children foaming at the mouth. Stories have permeated the media of people who have lost dozens of family members due to the chemical attacks. This is a gross and disgusting level of human rights violations.

Iran and Russia have worked side by side covertly and overtly with the Assad regime. They are just as responsible as the perpetrator for endorsing and enabling this deplorable and grotesque behavior. The United States will not stand for this and as our representative for the United Nations Nikki Haley did right by our country and humanity by speaking out against these atrocities.
