VOTD: Squirrel vs. Feeder!! Simply Hilarious!

Determined little critters! I wonder if the squirrels spend as much time thinking about outwitting people as people spend trying to outwit squirrels.

Squirrels are crazy smart though I’d like to see the followup video a month later where the squirrel figures out how to inch up the pole under the slinky and still gets to the feeder!lol

This is so cute and funny! clever idea for using the slinky to keep the squirrels down! We keep our feeder away from the trees far enough so they can’t jump on the feeder. We figured out how far to keep it away so the “gifted and talented” squirrels could not jump that far onto the feeder. Squirrels are acrobatic, intelligent and adaptable.

Surely we have learned to co-exist with our furry friends but they can bite and chew obviously, so we shouldn’t try to pet or get too close to a squirrel you don’t know. Their claws are like tiny little razors, so even a friendly squirrel can unintentionally claw your skin up. They can also be sweet, gentle and playful and are incredibly soft. Squirrels are simply adorable however when a few squirrels find out you have bird feeders they invite the whole neighborhood and before you know it you have a complete squirrel zoo. They destroy bird feeders and try to eat holes into your attic. It is extremely hard to keep squirrels out of the bird feeders. This feeder is so much fun, doesn’t hurt the squirrel and presents hours of entertainment. Squirrels are very persistent!

FACT: On average, squirrels eat about one pound of food per week. Many people think that squirrels only eat nuts, but this isn’t true. Squirrels are omnivores, which means they like to eat plants and meat. Squirrels mainly eat fungi, seeds, nuts and fruits, but they will also munch on eggs, small insects, caterpillars, small animals and even young snakes. Squirrels are nimble, bushy-tailed rodents found all over the world.
