Trump & The EPA Granted Flint, Michigan THIS Much In Federal Funds!

Everyone in the mainstream liberal media has been beating Donald Trump up over his potential cuts to the budget of the Environmental Protection Agency. By everyone, that’s mostly liberals. Despite the fact that the President’s budget is merely a proposal that has to be approved and appropriated by Congress. But people can’t complain about him anymore. Even though they will.

Under the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act of 2016 the EPA has bestowed a $100 million grant to the city of Flint, Michigan which was ravaged by lead poisoning in their water. The majority of their water pipes were tainted by lead. Going to show the President truly does care about the environment and our people.

EPA head executive Scott Pruitt told reporters the following in a news release,

The people of Flint and all Americans deserve a more responsive federal government. EPA will especially focus on helping Michigan improve Flint’s water infrastructure as part of our larger goal of improving America’s water infrastructure.”

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver responded saying,

We are excited and very grateful to receive these much-needed funds. The City of Flint being awarded a grant of this magnitude in such a critical time of need will be a huge benefit. As we prepare to start the next phase of the FAST Start pipe replacement program, these funds will give us what we need to reach our goal of replacing 6,000 pipes this year and make other needed infrastructure improvements. We look forward to the continued support of the EPA and federal government.”

Michigan matched twenty percent of the grant. Meaning the state itself is putting in $20 million of their own dollars. CNN attempted to give credit to work started under the Obama administration when in reality the President has been promising to improve infrastructure since he started his campaign.

While they have focused on the thirty-one percent potential cut in EPA funding, they failed to note the water system infrastructure funding remains fully intact and untouched. Which is of a critical necessity for cities like Flint who have had a water crisis for over three years now.

Crumbling cities like Flint need this type of help and the President gave them exactly the type of help they need. Surely this is an indication of what is to come and if it is then he will certainly win re-election in four years.
