Tillerson Just Threatened North Korea! See What He Said

0

Among several other countries, North Korea is one of our most dangerous enemies. Donald Trump knew that when he was looking for his Secretary of State. Considering all his international experience, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson isn’t new to the game of negotiations. But when it comes to North Korea, he isn’t standing for any of their inflammatory nonsense.

Tillerson has left the opportunity to use military force against North Korea on the table, if they continue to pose a nuclear threat the way they have been for the last year. The Secretary of State made his comments during a visit to Seoul, South Korea. He referenced the chance of using a wide range of new economic, security, and diplomatic measures to combat the communist nation.

He said,

If they elevate the threat of their weapons program to a level that we believe requires action, that option is on the table. Let me be very clear: The policy of strategic patience has ended.”

Strategic patience is a policy that was defined by the Council of Foreign Relations as something used under the Obama administration. But it is now a thing of the past. It was something the White House tried using after direct negotiations did not work.

The Trump administration doesn’t want war any more than the Obama administration does or did. But the difference is, that the Trump administration is willing to, if North Korea continues these preemptive strikes in order to seek our attention. Tillerson told reporters at NBC News,

Obviously, if North Korea takes actions that threaten the South Korean forces or our own forces, then that would be met with an appropriate response.”

Last year 28,000 American troops were placed on military bases all over South Korea while 49,000 troops were sent to Japan. Japan is an island off the coast of the Koreas. Thus, the military presence there is a secure threshold should North Korea try something.

Tillerson’s comments don’t come out of nowhere. North Korea has been testing numerous different missiles, some off the coast of Japan and South Korea. One happened right at the same time President Trump met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan. Coincidence or not?

Either way, this new administration will not deal or put up with dictatorial tyrants and their oppressive regimes. The days of Barack Obama are long gone. Donald Trump will keep this country and this world safe again.
