Pro-Life Activists Respond To Trump’s Funding Deal With Planned Parenthood!

The mainstream media has reported that the President has promised to fund Planned Parenthood if they cease abortion services. Pro-life activists heard about his promise and they are responding in heed. But it isn’t Trump they are mad at it’s Planned Parenthood for outright rejecting the President’s deal.

The pro-life activists noted that Planned Parenthood Is almost entirely incapable of changing their business model to a more holistic approach as it is too centered on abortion. They also referenced the numerous scandals surrounding Medicaid fraud and their failure to report statutory rape.

As the new healthcare bill was released on Monday the Trump administration reportedly did everything in their power to ensure that Planned Parenthood was not defunded by the federal government. Many are arguing this is why Trump, who is notoriously pro-life, offered up this deal. Discussions even included an increase in funds if abortions were no longer provided for.

The President stated the following about his proposal,

“There is an opportunity for organizations to continue the important work they do in support of women’s health, while not providing abortion services.”

Anonymous officials from the administration reportedly spoke with reporters from the New York Times and said that the President’s olive branch stems from the need to strike a balance between the Conservative base of the Republican Party and the more moderate views of his daughter, Ivanka Trump. His daughter has no official role or title but has serves as an advisor.

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards released the following statement regarding the offer saying,

“The White House proposal that Planned Parenthood stop providing abortion is the same demand opponents of women’s health have been pushing for decades, as a part of their long-standing effort to end women’s access to safe, legal abortion. Planned Parenthood has always stood strong against these attacks on our patients and their ability to access the full range of reproductive health care.”

Kristin Hawkins, President of Students for Life, and pro-life activist told TheBlaze,

“As good of a deal maker as President Trump is, there is no way to negotiate with Planned Parenthood, a scandal-ridden organization whose very ideology is built around abortion. This isn’t one issue of many for them, it’s the only issue for them. Abortion is their holy crusade. While the deal was meant to fulfill a campaign promise, pro-lifers want zero tax dollars going to Planned Parenthood.  Abortion is their bread and butter but a laundry list of unsavory business practices has defined them, from aiding and abetting sex traffickers to covering up child rape and abuse to overbilling Medicaid by hundreds of millions of dollars. Women deserve better than Planned Parenthood.”

David Daleiden, the Founder of the Center for Medical Progress, said Planned Parenthood’s comments,

“showed how extreme their abortion business really is when they refused President Trump’s offer of more federal funding if they terminated their abortion program, which is the largest the country but which they claim is “only 3%” of their business. When asked to choose between full-spectrum, mainstream healthcare for women and families, or late-term abortions and selling baby body parts, Planned Parenthood chose the latter.

American taxpayers should no longer be forced to prop up Planned Parenthood’s corrupt and criminal abortion empire, exposed by CMP’s undercover videos of Planned Parenthood’s senior-level leadership and documented in the House Select Panel’s and Senate Judiciary Committee’s investigations, which have referred them to the FBI and DOJ for criminal prosecution.”

While pro-life activists certainly don’t agree with Planned Parenthood funding they can certainly recognize that, as an amazing deal maker, the President did everything in his power to come to a middle ground. But Democrats wouldn’t budge.
