As Cuts Loom, EPA’s Top Social Justice Warrior Resigns!

We all know that Obama’s regulations have killed our economy and destroyed millions of jobs. Trump campaigned on reducing many of those regulations, restoring our economy and returning jobs to America. President Trump’s appointment of EPA Secretary Scott Pruitt is certainly a strong statement in that direction.

Pruitt was a legal opponent of President Obama over nearly every major regulation and executive action.  It should come as no surprise then, that Secretary Pruitt is going to lead the charge of dismantling the EPA. The dismantling of the EPA starts with deep budget cuts.  Some EPA officials are starting to see ‘greener pastures’ already, like Mustafa Ali, who has been with the EPA since 1992 and just quit. Well, at least there’s one less idiot, Pruitt will not have to get rid of.

H/T Daily Caller:

The head of the EPA’s Environmental Justice Program resigned Thursday over concerns President Donald Trump might slash funding for the 24-year-old project.

Mustafa Ali, a former senior to the administrator responsible for directing the agency’s actions protecting minority communities, stepped down in a letter to EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. He also voiced concern the Pruitt plans on gutting the project.

“I wonder if our new leadership has had the opportunity to converse with those who need our help the most,” Ali wrote in the memo. “I strongly encourage you and your team to continue promoting agency efforts to validate these community’s concerns, and value their lives.”

Ali, who helped found the program in 1992, leaves as Democrats and activists continue to bicker about the agency’s reduced impact during the Trump-era.

Recent reports indicate Trump will cut the EPA’s $8 billion budget by $2 billion and cut the agency’s beefy staff by 20 percent. Funding for Ali’s department in particular would decrease 78 percent, from $6.7 million to $1.5 million, according to a report published earlier this week by The Oregonian.

Civil rights have criticized the EJ for years. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (CCR) complained last year that the EPA failed to carry out effectively its environmental justice objectives.

CCR’s complaints come on the heels of last year’s Flint water scandal.

The scandal happened after officials switched Flint’s water supply from Lake Huron to the Flint River in a bid to save money. But the state applied the wrong regulations and standards for drinking water, which ultimately resulted in corroded pipes.

The defendants are seeking a civil action lawsuit for $722 million in damages.

Recent reports appear to indicate that much of the crisis could’ve been avoided if the applicable agency acted more quickly to enforce regulations governing Michigan’s water supply.

Well, well, well. Again another story exemplifying how every time the government gets involved in something things gets SCREWED UP!

Don’t you find it interesting, that the same EPA that funds projects such as “rainwater management” for teenagers on one hand, FINES adults for collecting rainwater on their own property on another hand. Talk about hypocrisy.

The EPA is nothing more than a glorious, overhyped and overregulated department that has been strangling our economy for years. It is about time we had a president in office that could help this department, beginning with deep cuts. Of course, I’d much rather see the entire department abolished and the issues and concerns returned to the local levels for the states to manage themselves. Most of the work of the EJ was really all about more EPA lawyers getting filthy rich.

On an interesting note, Ali will become the senior vice president for the Hip Hop Caucus, a nonprofit group that promotes activism for young voters through music and culture.

Who knew there was even a ‘Hip Hop Caucus’ that needed to promoted more. So this EPA genius that was in office since 1992 is moving from a cushy job of regulations and ‘green energy’ to the greener pastures of Hip Hop. I’d say that pretty much sums it up the EPA, don’t you? Sounds like justice will be served after all.
