Joe Thomas, #73, offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns is a 10-time Pro Bowler. He’s been to the Pro Bowl every season since he’s been in the NFL. Pretty awesome, right?! At the end of the 2015 season, Thomas was named the recipient of Pro Football Focus‘s Bruce Matthews Award for best offensive lineman in the league. He was ranked 23rd on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2016 and named to his 10th straight Pro Bowl, despite the Browns finishing with a league worst 1-15 record. Joe Thomas is one of the greats to ever play in the NFL and we will see him in the Hall of Fame down the road.
Recently, Thomas took a lot of flack from the MSM after his comments on Colin Kaepernick. We’re over two weeks into NFL free agency and divisive quarterback Colin Kaepernick is still unsigned. Normally it wouldn’t be big news that a back-up quarterback on a 1-10 is out of a job, but in this case it’s different.
The MSM wants you to think it’s a mystery that Kaepernick is not signed. They may even want you to think he’s being “blackballed” by the NFL teams. No. Stop it. This is purely about talent, skills, and patriotism, none of which Kaepernick has.
H/T The WildCard:
Ten-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Joe Thomas found that out the hard way. The Cleveland Browns All-Pro is known for speaking his mind, and the Kaepernick situation is no exception.
Thomas hit the nail on the head on Twitter Saturday regarding why Kaepernick is still unsigned:
My thoughts re: @Kaepernick7? Teams don’t currently view him as a starting QB, and NFL teams accept ZERO distractions from their backup QBs.
Good teams don’t LET themselves be distracted.
