You May Have to Cancel That Dream Vacation to Iran, Thanks to Trump [VIDEO]
As I’m sure you know, President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning travelers from seven predominantly Islamic countries entry into the U.S.; one of those countries was, shockingly, Iran. It’s obvious that Donald Trump didn’t interrupt Barack Obama’s vacation in California to discuss this ban, after all The “Iranian Nuclear Deal” was one of Barack Obama’s signature accomplishments. The Iranians are now supposed to be our friends.
For some reason, that was obviously missed during the eight years of the Obama administration by the President and by both of his Secretaries of State – Hillary Clinton and John Kerry – Donald Trump seems to think that Iran is a nation that supports terrorism. How could he come to that conclusion?
He probably came to that conclusion by paying attention to intelligence reports and the opinion of every other country on the face of the earth that isn’t run by a Muslim government. I’m not sure how Obama, Clinton, and Kerry could’ve missed all of this, but apparently they did.
Here’s President Trump after he signed the immigration ban.
Iran is not going to take this affront lying down. Immediately after President Trump announced his executive order the Iranian Foreign Ministry struck back with an action that is certainly going to cause heartache and despair here in America.
“While respecting the American people and distinguishing between them and the hostile policies of the U.S. government, Iran will implement the principle of reciprocity and tell the offensive U.S. limitations against Iranian nationals are lifted.”
In other words, cancel that vacation to Tehran. Unless you got a Canadian passport. Or a Mexican passport.
The Iranian president shows that he has no sense of either logic or history. “The restrictions against travel by Muslims to America… Are an open affront against the Muslim world and the Iranian nation, in particular, and will be known as a great gift to extremists.”
So refusing to allow potential terrorists into our country is an affront against Muslims. It’s good to know that. Just how that’s going to be a great gift to extremists remains a big question. Frankly, I’m not interested in the answer I just want them to be offended.
Rouhani, Iran’s President, also said “Today is not the time to erect walls between nations. They have forgotten that the Berlin wall fell years ago.”
I suppose it will fall on deaf ears, but I’d like to remind President Rouhani that the Berlin wall was built to keep people in. Any walls put up by Americans are built to keep terrorists and those who would destroy our nation out. Again, not that he’ll understand that.
I do think that President Trump’s Executive Order on immigration is overly broad. I think it would be appropriate to amend the Executive Order to allow Muslims from any of the seven nations in question – especially Iran – to be able to immigrate or travel to the U.S. The order should be amended to include a brief layover at the island paradise of Guantánamo while travelers can be vetted. I think that’s a pretty reasonable compromise.
