It seems like every other story from the Democratic operatives with bylines in the major media is revolving around “problems” between Donald Trump and the intelligence community. The reason those stories have been so prominent over the last weeks, in my opinion, is not problems between Trump in the intelligence community it’s the result of Obama administration officials who haven’t been fired yet feeding their friends in the media. Retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer addressed the situation with FOXBusiness Network. He agrees that those leaks are going to go right back to the Obama White House.
“I would put this right at the feet of John Brennan and Jim Clapper, and I would go so far as to say the Obama White House was directly involved before they left. Ben Rhodes and those folks… The Democrats are behind this, and some of the Republicans are involved with the leaks.”
Obama’s Director of the CIA and Director of National Intelligence, Brennan and Clapper, should be investigated, and for more than just these leaks. The two of them were key to providing Barack Obama the “intelligence” that he needed to justify his deal with Iran that puts American national security in jeopardy along with the rest of the world.
Shaffer really hits the nail on the head here when he says that Obama era appointees need to be rooted out and fired. In addition to the direct appointees, it’s important that the Trump administration digs deeper into the bureaucracy to find the mid-level employees, likely civil service employees, who are carrying out the sabotage.
Washington is filled with rumors right now that President Trump may be appointing Stephen Feinberg to head an investigation of the intelligence community. That rumor is causing significant heartburn for Democrats and Obama holdovers as well as for civil service employees or more committed to Barack Obama than they are to America.
Hopefully, over the next month with Mike Pompeo leading the CIA and former Senator Dan Coats as Director of National Security these holdovers and Obama moles will be rooted out and dispatched. I think a congressional investigation will also be a good idea because as Lt. Col. Shaffer said, the fingers will all point to Democrats. Some of those fingers may well end up being pointed at establishment Republicans like John McCain, just to keep things bipartisan.
