President Barack Obama, retaliating against the Russians for reportedly “meddling with our election,” expelled 35 Russian diplomats from the U.S. For a while it looked like Vladimir Putin might do the same, but at this point it appears he won’t.
A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson declared “The people who occupied White House for eight years – this is not the Administration.
“They [Obama and his advisers] are the group of foreign policy losers, angry and shallow-brained. Today Obama has officially confessed to it.”
It appears as though Mr. Putin didn’t want to take the chance of being accused of the same thing by his own Foreign Ministry.
The Russians have denied any involvement related to the release of emails from the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign organization. WikiLeaks, who published the emails, also denied Russian involvement.
Other than a statement released by the Obama administration that cited 17 political appointees who said “it was the Russians,” no proof of Russian involvement has been offered. The Obama administration has even refused to brief Congress.
In fact, whoever released the information to WikiLeaks gained access to DNC and Clinton campaign emails because John Podesta was stupid enough to “click here” on a phishing email that he received. That email could’ve been sent by reasonably smart high school kid in Kansas.
The Obama administration’s whining about “the Russians” is especially hypocritical since the Russians actually did break into the White House and the State Department systems in 2011 and that was hushed up by the administration and their Democratic operatives with bylines in the media in advance of the 2012 presidential election.
Additionally, it was originally speculated in October when the first batch of WikiLeaks emails became public that “the Russians” were responsible for the leaks. At that time Obama and the Democrats thought Hillary had a significant lead in the presidential election and there was no discussion about “the Russians.” It wasn’t until November 9th that “the Russians” became the excuse for Hillary’s loss and the Obama administration showed any interest. As Glenn Reynolds, the Instapundit, noted, “Democrats don’t care about national security, they only care about losing power.”
One final issue relating to “the Russians” is that, despite what 52% of Democrats believe, there were no breaches in electronic voting in any of Barack Obama’s 57 states. Even if they did provide the emails to WikiLeaks all they did was give the American people the opportunity to see who the leadership in the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton’s campaign really are. They also gave the American people the opportunity to see proof that every major media source is in bed with Democrats in general and the Clinton campaign in particular.
No individual from the DNC or the Clinton campaign whose emails were published by WikiLeaks has come forward to dispute the content of the emails.
Could it be that Barack Obama is simply trying to create a tempest in a foreign policy teapot so that Donald Trump has to deal with foreign policy issues related to both Israel and Russia?
I certainly wouldn’t put it past him, would you?
