‘Clock Boy’ Loses in Court, Father’s Defamation Lawsuit Dismissed [VIDEO]
Remember the “Clock Boy”? The kid in Texas who took apart alarm clock and rigged it up in a briefcase so that it looked like a bomb. He said he did it for a science project, and when he showed up at school with it, school officials – because it looked like a terrorist bomb – took him into custody, called the police, and he was arrested.
It all turned out to be a big hoax – maybe – but because he was a Muslim the whole left side of the world got involved because he had been “discriminated against.” He got an invitation to the White House to meet with President Obama, he didn’t take his briefcase with him.
His family also sued virtually everyone in the state of Texas. Thankfully, for the most part the courts in Texas are smarter than the courts on the left coast. I think you’ll enjoy this portrayal of what happened on one particular case.
That was Glenn Beck, and it was his case that was dismissed. Apparently lawsuits against Fox News, the mayor of Irving, the school district, and probably everyone who can even spell “Texas,” are still pending. I suspect they’ll meet the same fate.
It was a three-hour hearing with District Court Judge Maricela Moore and the judge took no prisoners when she dismissed the lawsuit.
During the lengthy hearing, Judge Moore pressed Mohamed’s lawyer, Fort Worth attorney Susan Hutchison, to provide any facts that would suggest that Hanson and the other defendants had said anything false or defamatory about Mohamed or his son during the television broadcasts. After spending a painfully embarrassing 15 minutes flipping through reams of paper, Mohamed’s lawyer was unable to provide any such evidence.
Oops. The judge dismissed the case with prejudice.
The American Freedom Law Center (AFLC) filed the motion to have the case thrown out. When they left the courtroom AFLC chief counsel said, “This lawsuit filed by Clock Boy’s father is yet another example of Islamist law fair, which is a component of the Muslim brotherhood’s civilization jihad.”
The AFLC is petitioning the court for attorney’s fees and sanctions against Clock Boy’s dad for bringing the suit.
Hope you enjoyed your 15 minutes of fame Clock Boy, you’re not likely to get another invitation to the White House.
