Obama Sets Confused and Notorius Traitor Chelsea Manning Free With Last Minute Pardon!

First, Obama puts in place Obamacare so taxpayers can pay for confused transgenders, like Chelsea Manning, to have their gender reassignment surgeries funded for them. Then, he pardons Manning, because it wasn’t enough that he/she was a traitor. WTH? Seriously?!  What is Obama going to do for a finale, pardon Clinton?

Chelsea Manning was supposed to serve 35 years in prison for ESPIONAGE!!! Oh, but thanks to Obama, he/she is being released early. I guess Obama felt sorry for a transgender taken into custody, held in solitary confinement who tried to commit suicide….so what if Chelsea committed ESPIONAGE! What’s the big deal, she was just giving away military secrets, right?

H/T ABC News:

Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison in 2013, and will now be released on May 17th, according to her lawyer. The documents that were leaked, about the U.S. military efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, sparked a firestorm.

She was one of 209 individuals granted commutations and 64 individuals who were given pardons by Obama on Tuesday.

“Since she was first taken into custody, Chelsea has been subjected to long stretches of solitary confinement — including for attempting suicide — and has been denied access to medically necessary health care,” Strangio added. “This move could quite literally save Chelsea’s life, and we are all better off knowing that Chelsea Manning will walk out of prison a free woman, dedicated to making the world a better place and fighting for justice for so many.”

What the heck!? Seriously! Chelsea Manning committed ESPIONAGE! How is releasing THIS woman/man making the world a “better place”? How is THAT “fighting for justice”?

Manning’s commutation comes on one of Obama’s final days in office. He has so far issued 1,385 commutations and 212 pardons.

Republicans responded:

“This is just outrageous. Chelsea Manning’s treachery put American lives at risk and exposed some of our nation’s most sensitive secrets,” House Speaker Paul Ryan said. “President Obama now leaves in place a dangerous precedent that those who compromise our national security won’t be held accountable for their crimes.”

Senator John McCain called the decision “a grave mistake that I fear will encourage further acts of espionage and undermine military discipline.” He added: “It is a sad, yet perhaps fitting commentary on President Obama’s failed national security policies that he would commute the sentence of an individual that endangered the lives of American troops, diplomats, and intelligence sources by leaking hundreds of thousands of sensitive government documents to Wikileaks, a virulently anti-American organization that was a tool of Russia’s recent interference in our elections.”

But here’s what WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange had to say:

“I welcome President Obama’s decision to commute the sentence of my alleged source Ms. Chelsea Manning from 35 years to time served,” WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said in a statement.

“Ms. Manning should never have been convicted in the first place,” he continued. “Ms. Manning is a hero, whose bravery should be applauded. Journalists, publishers, and their sources serve the public interest and promote democracy by distributing authentic information on key matters such as human rights abuses and illegal acts by government officials. They should not be prosecuted.”

Interesting comments coming from a man who may be seeking a deal himself with Obama. Rumor has it, Assange may have made this a condition of his own extradition to the United States. Afterall, Assange has his own health and family issues to think about after spending 6 years confined indoors at the Ecuador Embassy in London.

Hey Obama, why would you do this for Private Manning and not General Petraeus?  Or what about Edward Snowden?

Then again, why don’t you just have them all classified under the same category as Hillary Clinton’s email server crimes – “extreme carelessness”?

Something tells me, this is going to be a controversial topic of discussion for days to come. Let us know what you think of Obama’s decision to commute Chelsea Manning’s sentence in the comments.
