Trump Announces Special Guest For Inauguration! [Video]

Well, President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration day is less than a month away. From everything he’s tweeted or posted, it looks like he’s going to “hit the ground running”. Trump will certainly have his hands full with all the recent havoc that President Obama has created, especially over just the last few days.

The inaugural events will kick off on Thursday, January 19th, when Donald Trump and Mike Pence will lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. There will then be a welcome concert at the Lincoln Memorial.

It looks like at this moment in time, three performances have been confirmed for the official inauguration event. In addition, I’m guessing that Trump will also ask Ted Nugent, since he performed at several events on the campaign trail. However, Trump’s team is also working on at least one more….country music star, Garth Brooks.

H/T Reuters:

Country star Garth Brooks is in discussions to perform at the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, the singer’s representative said on Friday, as organizers of the event denied media reports that they were struggling to find A-list stars to take part.

Brooks, 54, one of the world’s best-selling solo artists, performed for Democrat Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009, along with a line-up that included Bruce Springsteen, U2, Beyonce, and Stevie Wonder.

“Garth has performed for the five living presidents,” his publicist Nancy Seltzer said on Friday. “While rumor has it that he has been asked to perform for President-elect Trump, he has not been able to commit yet.”

Here’s Garth performing at the 50th Anniversary Country Music Awards (A Tribute to Heroes) with the song “All American Kid”:

Brooks, a Country Hall of Famer with U.S. sales of more than 135 million albums, is currently in Hawaii as part of a world tour. He is due to perform in Cincinnati, Ohio on Jan. 21 – the day after the inauguration in Washington.

Asked on camera by celebrity website TMZ earlier this week if he would sing for Trump, Brooks replied “It’s always about serving. It’s what you do.”

Boris Epshteyn, Communications Director for Trump’s inaugural committee, on Friday denied it was having problems assembling talent.

“We have world-class talent, world-class entertainers reaching out to us offering their help, offering their services so no struggle, whatsoever,” Epshteyn told ABC television news.

The inaugural committee on Friday announced that the theme for the Jan. 20 celebrations would be “Make America Great Again” – the Republican businessman’s campaign slogan.

Unlike President Obama’s inauguration, Trump’s inauguration is going to be more traditional, not “over the top” like Obama’s. Trump wants to focus more on the day after and get “down to work” after his inauguration. He’s also not worried about Hollywood celebrities such as Beyonce, Jay Z, or Cher showing up, like Obama was or Clinton would have been.

In addition to Garth Brooks, other performers confirmed are the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and opera star, Jackie Evancho.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Utah-based choir, which has performed at past inaugurations for the likes of George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan, confirmed it will also perform during the Jan. 20 ceremony.  Here’s their performance of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic”:

Jackie Evancho, a 16-year-old America’s Got Talent contestant, will be singing the “Star Spangled Banner” at the 2017 inauguration.

“I am so excited,” Evancho said in a Today show interview. “It’s going to be awesome. I felt really honored to be able to sing for the office. It’s a great honor for me.”

Evancho has faced bullying for having a trans relative. The good news is her recent record is taking off.

Here’s the talented opera star singing “God Bless America”:

Personally, I’d also like to see the group, Madison Rising perform. Here’s one of their favorites.

and let’s not forget Krista Branch…”I Am America”:

As Krista Branch sings:

I am America! One voice united we stand. I am America. One hope to heal our land. There is still work that must be done. I will not rest until we’re done. I am America.

Donald Trump is certainly “….one hope to heal our land…”

One thing’s for sure….as Trump tweeted:

…. things will be different after Jan. 20th.

If you would like to see Garth Brooks celebrate Trump’s inauguration by performing? Please share!!!

God Bless America! Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!
