Robin McFadden briskly entered the grocery store right after her son’s basketball game, she was in a hurry to get through the checkout line and go home. However, her errand had an unexpected change in direction when she heard something behind her. As she turned her head she noticed the conservative comedian Jeff Foxworthy, and then quickly snapped a photo, shocked by what she caught him doing behind her back.
A mother in the checkout line was attempting to manage her impatient children as she thumbed through her coupons, trying to figure out her total before the register rang it up, just in case she was short.
Stress from all of her rowdy boys mounted, as did the total for her groceries, which worked out to be much more than she expected. It was right at that time that something caught her eye over her shoulder, and this time, it wasn’t her children.
“I was coming from my son’s basketball game with my three sons and decided to go couponing at Publix in John’s Creek, Georgia,” McFadden said to FOX 5. “I was at the register and between me worrying about my items and the kids fussing, I didn’t even know that Jeff Foxworthy was standing behind me.”
Her initial shock at seeing the famous funny man right behind her was met with the horror of the situation she was dealing with when Foxworthy stepped in and said, “Watch this,” before he went around the mother and her kids to swipe his card, paying for the total of her groceries that day. With just a smile on his face, he was happy to ease her burden a little bit, and McFadden was shocked that he would do that for her — a perfect stranger.
“I told him that he was going to make me cry, gave him a hug, thanked him, and took the photo!” she stated. He happily posed with the woman he’d helped in a selfie as if he weren’t famous at all, and they were lifelong friends.
What a great example of a truly caring person, a far cry from many in Hollywood, who refuse to go anywhere without an entourage and are too self-entitled to think of anyone other than themselves. While our liberal counterparts complain that Trump will cause divisiveness, Foxworthy is out practicing what he preaches, and bringing people together.
