East Carolina University Band Booed After Kneeling During National Anthem [VIDEO]

East Carolina University’s band members joined the protest antics and decided to kneel during the National Anthem and immediately got booed by an irate audience.

Of course the East Carolina chancellor Dr. Cecil Stanton released a statement in support of the antics.

How does a marching band kneel during a performance? They should be kicked out of band!

Watch the video:

The chancellor put out the following stupid statement:

“While we acknowledge and understand the disappointment felt by many Pirate fans in response to the events at the beginning of today’s football game, we urge all Pirate students, supporters and participants to act with respect for each other’s views. Civil discourse is an East Carolina value and part of our ECU creed. We are proud that recent campus conversations on difficult issues have been constructive, meaningful exchanges that helped grow new understanding among our campus community. East Carolina will safeguard the right to free speech, petition and peaceful assembly as assured by the U.S. Constitution.”

What an idiot? The band members are often on scholarship. This means they are being paid to be on that field. Just like in the NFL, you don’t get to do antics on your employers time. This is not about free speech, this is about not doing your job! This is about misbehaving on someone else’s time!

They are not even protesting! It is a 3 minute lazy antic!

When are these morons going to get it? I guarantee, just like the NFL is leaking viewership by the millions, East Carolina U is going to see fans boycott.

The school’s chancellor, Cecil Stanton, apparently does not understand that. However, with the NFL’s ratings drop, I am confident that he will soon see the consequences.

College football lives on a tiny fraction of the money the NFL does. Not only that, the university also relies heavily on alumni money as well.
