The polling in the Presidential race right now is more than little hard to read. That happens every four years because of the conventions. This year it’s especially hard because we have two major candidates that lots of people really don’t like.
There’s also another factor, and that’s the “MSM attitude.” The major media hates Donald Trump with a passion and, more than ever this year, is the public relations arm of Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign. There’s a school of thought that when people are asked by pollsters with a favor Trump, Clinton, or someone else, even hard-core trump supporters won’t admit it. But when the curtain closes behind them in the ballot box they’ll be checking the box next to Donald Trump’s name.
Recent polling shows Hillary ahead, at one point by as much as 15 points, but that polling is beginning to settle out and the spread of the race is closing fast. Most major polls showed Hillary ahead within the margin of error over the last couple of days.
There’s another factor look at though, and that is what’s happening on Social Media. That tells a different story.
Keep in mind that Hillary Clinton has been on social media for decades and has been a political face for almost 50 years. Donald Trump is brand-new on the scene especially as a political face.
On Facebook Hillary Clinton has 5.3 million likes and Donald Trump has 10.2 million likes.
On livestream posts Hillary had 11,000 likes, 0 shares, and 321,000 views. Donald Trump, 135,000 likes, 18,200 shares, and 1.5 million views.
On Twitter Hillary has 8.1 million followers and Donald Trump has 10.6 million. Recent study was done looking at Trump’s followers on Twitter and it turns out 70% of his followers are real supporters and 90% of those followers have a voting history. No one can find out if Hillary Clinton’s followers or even real.
On YouTube, Hillary averages 500 live viewers per stream while Trump averages 30,000 live viewers.
On Instagram, Hillary has 1.8 million followers, Donald has 2.2 million.
On Reddit, Hillary has less than 25,000 subscribers, Donald has nearly 200,000 subscribers and the “Hillary for Prison” Reddit feed has over 55,000 subscribers.
Hillary’s in trouble on social media and that will likely translate into a Trump landslide. On election night the news anchors may well be sitting there with shocked looks on their faces wondering, “how could this happen?”
I can’t wait.
