A Florida high school hero wrestled a loaded gun away from another student who was threatening to shoot a teammate.
Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers suspended him for three days as a gift for his brave heroism!
The administrators at Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, Florida are idiots and morons! There, I said it!
Now this story took place in 2013, but as stupidity runs rampant in our schools, I felt the need to replay it. We have children being arrested for playing pretend, suspended for talking about junk food and for eating food into the shape of a gun. We have parents being threatened with arrest for walking their kids to school, and teachers getting away with pulling children’s pants down in mass to check for poop. We have schools calling the law on students handing out Bible verses off school property and time. INSANITY in our schools.
All idiocy breaks loose when a student most likely saves a life and gets in trouble. I cannot fathom ANY reason that a student would even be chastised for being braver than most and doing what he could to stop a situation that could have ended in a fatality.
I will let the NY Daily News tell the story:
The 16-year-old, from Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, was punished for his part in disarming the boy who wanted to blast another student on the school bus ride home.
Witnesses said the suspect was aiming the .22 caliber revolver “point blank” at a student and saying he was going to shoot.
But, instead of rewarding the heroic teen who put his own life at risk, school authorities suspended him “for his role in an incident where a weapon was present”.
The boy, who has not been publicly identified, told Fox4Now.com there was “no doubt” he saved the target’s life with his actions.
“It’s dumb. How they going to suspend me for doing the right thing?” he told the news channel.
Authorities confirmed to local station WFTX that the weapon was indeed loaded, and the arrest report stated the suspect was “pointing the gun directly” at the other student and “threatening to shoot him.”
Yes, Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, Florida, you are still being shamed! Unbelievable!
