Black Lies Matter
#BlackLivesMatter owns the Democratic Party. Hillary Clinton is pledging to force the nation to “face up to the hard truth of injustice and systemic racism.”
If you listen to Hillary – or any Democrat – the biggest problem faced by black men is the fear of being shot by a cop.
That, for starters, is a lie.
In 2014, 920 people were shot by police. 662 were white or Hispanic and 258 were black. In 2014 there were 6,095 black homicide deaths and 5,397 white and Hispanic homicide deaths. Virtually every black victim was killed by a black killer and the vast majority of those victims were black males.
Black males make up 6% of the U.S. population yet they account for well over half of all black homicide victims and killers.
If every one of the blacks who were shot by police in 2014 was “murdered” by police that would only account for about 5% of the total. In the real world 18 blacks are killed by other blacks from the ‘hood for every one killed by a cop for any reason. Of those 258 killed by police, the overwhelming majority were killed while attacking a police officer – see Michael Brown, or while resisting arrest – see Eric Garner (who actually died from obesity, not police action.)
On the flip side, police officers are disproportionately threatened by black criminals. Over the last decade, 40% of police killed in the line of duty have been killed by 6% of the U.S. population – black males.
When you look at the statistics for violent crime, that same 6% is doing more than their share. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (run by Eric Holder and now Loretta Lynch), blacks were charged with 62% of robberies, 57% of murders, and 45% of assaults in the 75 largest U.S. counties.
#BlackLivesMatter – and Barack Obama – claim that white officers are the problem in the inner city. That’s just not the case, as the statistics prove. But statistics are inconvenient for race demagogues.
The Race Industry focuses on a handful of shootings by police officers – who are arrested and tried – and ignores the thousands of black victims who are murdered at will by their black neighbors who are seldom brought to trial.
