[VIDEO] Americans Asked About Meaning of Memorial Day–The Answers… Disgraceful!

0 91

We celebrate Memoral Day at the end of every Monday in May. It used to be known as “Decoration Day” a day set aside so Americans could remember and decorate the graves of the service members who died. Now, from what these people say, Memorial Day is anything but a remembrance holiday. This is sad.

We all get excited for the day off of work, but, do we really know why we get a day off? Most people don’t. This video shows just how gullible and ill-informed people really are, you will be shaking your head in AWE at the stupidity of these answers!

Dice spoke to a number of people on the street, and found that the majority had no idea what Memorial Day was all about. One even said that he only cared because it meant that he didn’t have to go to work.

Others completely bought into it when Dice suggested it was a celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, of the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,” or even that it was a day to pay tribute to pioneering surfers who had died in the water.

Sounds like these people could use another US History class and touch up on the basics. We study history so we don’t repeat the mistakes that we made in the past, what does this say if we can’t even remember the men who fought and died for our country? It’s pathetic that most American’s know so little about the country they live in.
