Our Founding Fathers played a large role in the development of the Constitution at a crucial time in America’s history. George Washington presided over the Constitutional Convention. James Madison wrote the document that became the model of the Constitution. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. Patrick Henry fought for the Bill of Rights. The Founding Fathers wanted the supreme law of the land to be perfect. With Obama in office, all of these men must be rolling over in their graves.
According to Obama, it’s a “charter of negative liberties,” which the Founding Fathers filled with constraints. Even worse, from Obama’s viewpoint is that the United States Supreme Court, despite Roosevelt’s, Carter’s, Kennedy’s, Johnson’s, and Clinton’s best efforts, was never successfully able to reframe the Constitution into a redistributive document:
The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. . . . [It] didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution — at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way — that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. [It] says what the states can’t do to you. [It] says what the federal government can’t do to you, but [it] doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.
WHAT? Seriously? “negative liberties”!
Our Founding Fathers did not create the U.S. Constitution for America to support socialism. Our Founding Fathers wanted a free society, a land of laws, and justice for all. They wanted to be governed “by the people, for the people”. Not by a dictator-in-chief called Barack Hussein Obama.
The Preamble states:
“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
The Founding Fathers believed in a land of laws and a limited government. Most Americans I know STILL support and believe in the Constitution, especially when it comes to “liberty to ourselves and our posterity”.
Legal immigrants came to this country to have the right to worship – freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, and the right to speak freely, and many of the rights outlined in the Constitution. The Constitution was drafted to ensure for all Americans those rights remain over time. If they wanted socialism, many of them could have chosen to stay in the exact countries they were fleeing! Our Founding Fathers did NOT intend for legal immigrants to come here – to America – for the redistribution of wealth. They wanted them to come here, work hard and prosper ON THEIR OWN and for the government to leave them the hell alone.
There is no greater political statement of individual liberty in the world than the American Constitution and, especially, its Bill of Rights. Only someone who associates himself solely with Big Government would consider the Constitution limiting, and he would come to this view because the Constitution’s primary purpose is to ensure that people are free from government tyranny. This means free from all tyranny, whether hard, such as Hitler demonstrated, or soft, as in a nanny state that refuses to allow its citizens to grow up, take responsibility for themselves, and thrive.
To summarize in modern English, our “life, liberty and pursuit of happiness,” “unalienable rights” that come from “the Creator,” are preserved only if we have a federal government that, as to the citizens within its borders.
The Constitution was put in place by our Founding Fathers to ensure “We The People” …”life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” and to ensure a LIMITED GOVERNMENT!
But Obama doesn’t understand that and never will. His whole goal has been to “transform America” into a socialist country. Just one thing – he forgot to check with “We The People” and a little document called the U.S. Constitution.
