Redistribution to make things fair is the centerpiece of the left and this time it is crime they are going to redistribute!
Julian Castro, rumored to be a top VP pick for Hillary, wants to use inflated vouchers to help urban poor people to afford higher rents in pricey areas.
It will be done through Section 8 housing and will punish the suburbs for being too wealthy.
It was tried in Dallas a few years back and all that was accomplished was a rise in crime in nicer neighborhoods!
But let’s make everything fair right? Share the crime!!!!
The NYP reports:
It’s all part of a grand scheme to forcibly desegregate inner cities and integrate the outer suburbs.
Anticipating NIMBY resistance, Castro last month threatened to sue suburban landlords for discrimination if they refuse even Section 8 tenants with criminal records. And last year, he implemented a powerful new regulation — “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” — that pressures all suburban counties taking federal grant money to change local zoning laws to build more low-income housing (landlords of such properties are required to accept Section 8 vouchers).
Castro is expected to finalize the new regulation, known as “Small-Area Fair Market Rents” (SAFMR), this October, in the last days of the Obama presidency.
It will be accomplished by setting the voucher rent limits by ZIP code rather than metro area.
Another example of liberals trying to force the sanitation of life’s problems using the government, after all the proof that we have that government cannot micromanage.
Bill Clinton also tried a similar crime redistribution effort when he was POTUS. In 1994 he created a program called “Moving to Opportunity Initiative”.
It moved mostly minority families (and crime) from the projects to better homes that were in safer neighborhoods in several counties across the country.
It flopped! The 15 years it was in effect, it raised no poverty levels and instead created crime issues where there was little before.
When is the left going to learn that it is the hurdles in life that make us strong? If they would spend their time preaching personal responsibility instead of trying to carry people over their hurdles, society and the individual would attain strength.
Take this scenario – two teen boys, one is handed a car, and one has to work to pay for some or all of it. Which one will take better care of it? Which one will learn self-dependence? Which one will be more responsible?
Pretty simple concept really! The left wants to give away “free stuff”; conservatives want people to stand up on their own two feet!
Castro, Clinton and Bernie Sanders love “free stuff”. AlfonZo Rachel asks whether taxpayers have a choice in whether to pay for it.
