One Veteran an hour commits suicide every day on average and that number is expanding rapidly.
The Obama administration and lawmakers on Capitol Hill struggle to find a reason. Ex-Drill Sergeant John Burk doesn’t!
John knows EXACTLY why and he is right!
Political Correctness has infiltrated Boot Camp and we are sending our soldiers away to the battlefield unprepared for the stress involved! Simple!
John minces no words: “IT’S THE MILITARY! WE ARE NOT THE F%(#!#G BOY SCOUTS! OUR JOB IS TO KILL AND TRAIN SOLDIERS TO KILL!“, he rants on social media!
Veteran John explains in his explosive rant that this is a self-inflicted problem and it begins at the top.
Boot Camp has fallen apart!
They have cell phones and thus family issues keep them distracted, where before they were in lockdown so that all focus was on training!
A system of punishment is being replaced with a system of reward.
They are rewarded for mediocrity and standardized training!
Rather simply put, the foundational principles behind the whole concept of what basic training is all about has been destroyed and replaced with politically correct CRAP!
We are sending our men and women out unprepared mentally, and thus, after facing the stress of the battlefield and realities thereof, they are coming back a mess!
Listen to Veteran John Burk as he excoriates the insanity that is directly affecting our veteran population! This is not rocket science, this is common sense.
“Had to say something. This $#!% has become so candy coated in the military that it’s making it hard for good soldiers to train their subordinates without having PC idiots come after them.” ~ John Burk
6,500 military veterans killed themselves in 2012, more than were killed in Iraq.
That same year, 177 active-duty soldiers committed suicide, conversely 176 soldiers were killed in combat.
Previous stats put the veteran suicide rate at 18, the most recent puts them at 22.
That was 2013…
“You political leaders that are wearing these uniforms are what is wrong with the military. You continue to sit there and make them go to these … PowerPoint slides on mental resiliency and mental strength. Meanwhile you are training them up to be p*******,” John states.
“You are creating a generation of crybabies … when they are exposed to another generation of warfare, the suicide rate is going to go even higher through the roof,” he said.
He is right!
Veteran and active-duty suicide rates will continue to grow as long as this continues to get worse instead of better.
Veteran John Burk left the military to pursue private enterprise! He spends his time motivating people to jump their hurdles! (Check his website, Facebook, YouTube)
He specializes “in in-your-face, life-changing fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle programs individualized to a person’s goals and needs”
Following is my favorite of all the videos that I watched that John has produced! John is a hurdle jumper! John preaches hurdle jumping! If you know me personally, you understand!)
My LIFETIME mantra has been this:
“We are born, we face hurdles, and we die. Some hurdles are natural, some we make ourselves, and some, others create for us!
How we handle those hurdles is what determines how strong we are. Either we cry in front of them and blame, creating weakness, or we jump them and create strength!”
The left wants the government to remove all our hurdles. Remove the hurdles, create weakness. You cannot, nor do we want to, sanitize the world of it’s problems.
I defer to the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians. He asked Christ to remove a hurdle. He does not tell us what it was, he just called it a “Thorn in the flesh”. In doing that, he made this passage apply to all of us:
8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Our strength comes from overcoming weakness!
This is why a government dependent society is a weak society, and a society based on personal responsibility and self sufficiency is a strong society.
John Burk states it so well:
“A champion is not defined by only their success. They’re defined by their failure they overcome to get to that success!”
