Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz has introduced legislation that destroys policing responsibilities from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
The legislation will remove the authority from the BLM and hand it over to local sheriffs…where it should be!
Chaffetz’s bill comes just a couple of months after FBI authorities killed Oregon citizens that were protesting the BLM land-use regulations and the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
Chaffetz said the legislation will help “ratchet down” the conflicts between federal agencies and local officials.
“This legislation will help de-escalate conflicts between law enforcement and local residents while improving transparency and accountability,” Chaffetz said in a statement. “The BLM and Forest Service will be able to focus on their core missions without the distraction of police functions.”
The BLM has been under scrutiny over the last years for their abuse of power, efforts to grab private land, and the continued expanding militarization and arming of it’s officers.
The incident at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in January involved brothers Ammon Bundy and Ryan Bundy, the sons of Cliven Bundy.
Cliven gained notoriety for getting involved in an armed standoff in Nevada with the BLM over cattle grazing rules in 2014.
The problem is not only relegated to the BLM.
The fact is that 40 federal agencies now have armed divisions, including the EPA, and many have been caught numerous times abusing their power.
We need elected officials to take the lead in supporting the 10th Amendment and reducing the size of the Federal Government, including taking the axe to most of the Federal Letter Departments like the BLM and the EPA.
Joe Newby reports that, “While appearing with talk show host Josh Bernstein, Nevada Senate candidate D’Nese Davis wondered why the Bureau of Land Management, also known as the BLM — the federal agency that has caused so much conflict with ranchers and land owners in the west — is not just armed, but heavily armed.”
“Why are they so heavily armed?” she asked.
Davis is running on term limits and state land rights. Over 80% of Nevada is owned by the Federal Government and was the home of the original Bundy situation.
I think we need quite a few just like D’Nese Davis.

“US Senate Candidate for Nevada D’nese Davis joined Josh Bernstein to discuss her campaign and why she would be the best person to replace the exercise machine fighting corrupt retiring Senator “Dingy” Harry Reid.”
“She is the only candidate running on term limits and state land rights which is very important as over 80% of Nevada is owned by the Federal Government. She is also a huge supporter of Veterans and has lead a grassroots effort to save the lives of our great veterans.”
