The legendary musician, Bruce Springsteen and his E Street band announced recently that his show in Greensboro, North Carolina, was cancelled in “solidarity” with those protesting the new “bathroom law” or “Public Facilities Privacy & Secruity Act.
The newly enacted law requires individuals to use bathrooms that correspond to the gender on their birth certificate. The law seems logical to most of us, but it has drawn fierce criticism for excluding legal protections from gay and transgender people.
It seems Bruce Springsteen wasn’t the only one to boycott NC and protest the law.
Earlier this week, PayPal nixed its plans to open a global operations center in Charlotte, a facility that was expected to employ 400 people.
V. Saxena: reports PayPal president, CEO and hypocrite Dan Schulman released a statement on Tuesday announcing his decision to cancel plans to operate a new global operations center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In explaining why he cancelled opening the center, he pointed to HB2, the sensible bill signed by Gov. Pat McCrory a few weeks ago that blocked individual counties in the state from permitting entitled transgender people to use restrooms that do not correspond to their biological makeup.
“The new law perpetuates discrimination and it violates the values and principles that are at the core of PayPal’s mission and culture,” he wrote. “As a result, PayPal will not move forward with our planned expansion into Charlotte.”
According to Fortune magazine, however, Schulman plans to soon brings his business to Cuba, a communist nation beset by frequent abuses of actual human rights.
WOW! So Pay Pal will not stand up for laws that permit safety in washrooms for young women, but instead would stand with transgenders or transsexuals or even pedophiles who dress as women to enter women’s washrooms…these are your “core” values and principles? And to top it off you would rather move your business to a communist country like CUBA? Seriously?
So Pay Pal must think Cuba is nicer to it’s citizens that the USA that justs asks citizens to identify with the gender on their birth certificates? You have got to be kidding me? So Pay Pal must treat their LGBT population better than the U.S.A.? Really? Hey Pay Pal, does the same go for Africa and Asia as well?
What a hypocrite! Paypal sounds just like Springsteen – neither would go to NC, but they don’t mind heading to other countries where laws regarding LGBT are much worse including countries where death is even a penalty?
I would agree with Rev. Franklin Graham, an evangelist in North Carolina, Pay Pal is hypocritical and we need to stand strong against this agenda.
