Obama’s Gun Control Plan Features a ban for Certain Social Security Beneficiaries

President Obama and the Democratic Party want your guns.  Don’t kid yourself when you hear El Presidente say he’s not pushing for confiscation, that’s exactly what Obama and every Democrat are aiming for.  People, and some Democrat politicians, will tell that’s just silly, some Democrats are members of the NRA.  Yet they support Obama and the Democratic Party’s moves to eliminate the 2nd Amendment.  Democrats biggest issue is gun control.

Here’s Obama praising the Australians who did exactly what he wants to do, confiscate privately held firearms.

It’s not about “gun control” it’s about “control.

The President’s latest excursion into executive orders will render some social security recipients unable to purchase a gun.

Current law prohibits individuals from buying a gun if, because of a mental health issue, they are either a danger to themselves or others or are unable to manage their own affairs. The Social Security Administration (SSA) has indicated that it will begin the rulemaking process to ensure that appropriate information in its records is reported to NICS. The reporting that SSA, in consultation with the Department of Justice, is expected to require will cover appropriate records of the approximately 75,000 people each year who have a documented mental health issue, receive disability benefits, and are unable to manage those benefits because of their mental impairment, or who have been found by a state or federal court to be legally incompetent. The rulemaking will also provide a mechanism for people to seek relief from the federal prohibition on possessing a firearm for reasons related to mental health.

El Presidente is having the Social Security Administration draw up rules to report people who shouldn’t be allowed to own a firearm.  Who could be upset about people who have “mental health issues” not being allowed to buy a gun?  After all, all of the “mass shootings” that aren’t Muslim’s on a Jihad kick have been nutcases with legally purchased guns.

Who would be upset?  Well, me for one.

The problem has to do with “who” gets to decide what a “mental illness” is.  This kind of rule could immediately exclude every veteran who has spoken to a VA doctor about any kind of issues related to PTSD.  You can bet it will be written to give federal agencies very wide latitude concerning the definition of “mental illness.”  You also bet, just like the “no-fly list” you won’t find out you’re on the list until you are denied the right to purchase a gun.

This has nothing to do with “mass shootings” that the President got all teary-eyed over yesterday, it has to do with increasing the control of the federal government over their serfs.

Here’s a parting question.  The government is going to decide who is “mentally ill” and can’t purchase a gun.  Some states require gun registration for all guns.  How long do you think it will take states like Connecticut or California to match their registration records with the “no-buy” list?
