All the News That’s Fit to… AWKWARD!

The NYT masthead says, “All the news that’s fit to print.”  We’ve had fun with that before, but they’ve really stepped in it this time.

Here’s the lede on a story about David Bowie.

The problem?  Well, other than the fact that the story ran the day AFTER Bowie died, nothing.

“It’s a good time to be David Bowie…”  Ummhmm.  Maybe not.  He was certainly a great performer but I have no idea if he was a Christian.  If not, it’s probably not such a good time to be David Bowie.

“He just celebrated his 69th birthday…”  Somehow that line seems a tad off kilter.

The Times has corrected the online version, but the print version will be out there forever.  Nice job guys.
