8pm EST: Obama Will Declare War

Here’s the story from the White House tonight at 8pm EST.

Obama will “discuss the broader threat of terrorism, including the nature of the threat, how it has evolved, and how we will defeat it,” the White House said.

“He will reiterate his firm conviction that ISIL (IS) will be destroyed and that the United States must draw upon our values -– our unwavering commitment to justice, equality and freedom -– to prevail over terrorist groups that use violence to advance a destructive ideology.”

So much for the press release.  The real question is, just who will this President be declaring war ON?  ISIS?

Since he’s barely been able to admit that the San Bernadino murders “might” have been an act of terrorism, or workplace violence or postpartum depression or anything else, I doubt he’ll be declaring war on anything that even faintly reeks of “Muslim.”

Also, he wouldn’t want to open himself up to prosecution from his own Department of Justice.

Where we do see anti-Muslim rhetoric and actions turn into violence, we do take action. As we talk about the importance of free speech we [must]make it clear that actions predicated on violent talk are not America. They are not who we are, they are not what we do, and they will be prosecuted.

Heaven forbid the President be seen as bullying Muslims.  He uses his “bully pulpit” against Christians, veterans, and Republicans.

No, I am very sure ISIS and their Muslim supporters (read “all Muslims”) are safe from the wrath of the Obama administration.

On the other hand, U.S. citizens of the “non-Muslim” variety are not likely to be spared the President’s wrath.  Especially these Americans.

Here’s what I expect from the President’s interruption of Sunday night football.

President Barack Obama’s aides are still working out a politically palatable way to implement a new gun control measure by executive order.

Plans to target private gun sales have been in the works for some time, but the administration is wary of political and potentially legal consequences of implementing the changes via executive order. Officials are analyzing state and local gun control efforts to find what they consider a winning strategy that will prevent mass shootings, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Keep in mind that the shootings by terrorists in San Bernadino took place in the People’s Republic of California.  They have the most strict gun laws in the U.S. in California, including but certainly not limited to:

  • There is no “gun show loophole” in the PRC.  Every firearm transfer must go through a background check;
  • High capacity magazines are effectively outlawed;
  • Sporting rifles (AK/AR) must have a “magazine button” that requires a special tool to release the magazine for reloading;
  • You can forget getting a concealed carry permit;
  • Open carry is a felony;
  • Carry a firearm in your vehicle and it must be locked up, unloaded, ammunition locked separately.

Those are the type of “common sense gun regulations” that Obama and the gun grabbers are howling for.  They didn’t help the 14 dead non-Muslims in San Bernadino.  As a matter of fact, one of the victims of the shooting rampage by Muslim terrorists was very open about the fact that California’s gun laws contributed to the massacre.

The President is going to declare war alright.  He’s just declaring – really, renewing his declaration of – war on the Second Amendment and the American People.
