I’m old. My memory is failing. I grew up in the 60s, at least I think I did, but the one part of my memory that will live on is the part with the muscle cars embedded down deep. GTO’s, 442’s, Shelby Mustangs, on and on. They’ll never get rusty, not even in my rusty old brain.
Muscle cars were built for one thing, straight line speed. Zero to 60 in nothing. Quarter mile times. Best time between three telephone poles on a country road (my memory favorite). God help you if you had to turn it, because the car certainly wasn’t going to.
It’s time today for a trip down memory lane. If you missed the 60s and 70s you really won’t want to miss this, it’s a great ride.
Thanks go to the folks at bankrate.com for pulling this collection together.
First up, the 1967 GTO.
