Where There’s Smoke, There’s Cosby

If Bill Cosby didn’t rape you, please put a note in the comments. It’s looking like we probably won’t get many comments at the rate things are going. They’re still coming out of the woodwork, and this one could actually bite Mr. Cosby in the … wherever.

A 25-year-old model filed a civil lawsuit against Bill Cosby on Tuesday accusing the comedian of drugging and sexually assaulting her at the Playboy Mansion in 2008.

Chloe Goins and her attorney Spencer Kuvin announced the federal lawsuit on the steps of headquarters for the Los Angeles Police Department, which has turned over its investigation into the claims to prosecutors for review.

This one is a big deal because California has a 10-year statute of limitations on rape and the other couple of thousand women who said Cosby raped them fall outside the statute.

According to the lawsuit, Goins was at the Playboy Mansion in 2008 when Cosby gave her a drink that made her feel sick and dizzy. Playboy founder Hugh Hefner then offered to let Goins lie down in one of the mansion’s rooms.

The article notes that the lawyers are quibbling over the date the rape allegedly occurred and a few other details.

Unfortunately, I think we’re a long way from hearing the end of Bill Cosby and rape.
