One thing that I do like about the #IStandWithPP Twitter avatar thing is that it makes it easy to identify the sickest pro-abortion liberals. Because when they talk smack about gun owners and the NRA, you wind up with BRILLIANT moments like this –
“I’d rather join the NRA and fight to keep my right to defend myself and my family, than support Planned Parenthood and get encouragement to murder my own children.
On Tuesday, the House passed a bill that would allow states to withhold Medicaid funding to health groups that perform abortions, in what is the latest attempt to strip Planned Parenthood of government funds.
Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Utah and New Hampshire have all made efforts to strip Planned Parenthood of state funds via Medicaid.
This is not a debate about abortion or even non-abortion, pro-life or pro-abortion,” Republican Rep. Sean Duffy said on the House floor Tuesday. “Those who are even pro-abortion agree that these tactics are unacceptable. They have no place in our society, and that federal tax dollars should actually go to fund an institution that harvests baby body parts for sale is absolutely asinine.”
The bill has been moved to the Senate. Let’s hope Senator Ted Cruz can #MakeDCListen.
As Senator Cruz told Breitbart:
“I encourage every state legislature and every governor to stand up and lead on Planned Parenthood,” the GOP presidential contender said. “Unfortunately, Republican leadership in Washington is unwilling to lead and, indeed, it’s Republican leadership who’s joined with Barack Obama in leading the fight to preserve taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood.”
“The states can make a real difference,” Cruz continued, adding:
I’m proud of my home state of Texas for standing up and leading and I would encourage every state to take the lead in stopping taxpayer funds from going to a private organization – Planned Parenthood – that is currently under multiple investigations for apparently committing a pattern of ongoing felonies of illegally selling the body parts of unborn children.
Cruz headlined an event in New Hampshire, “Practical Federalism: Stand Up and Fight,” hosted by American Principles Project, Cornerstone Action, and The Family Leader, that focused on how far America has moved away from the Constitution over the past century, shifting power away from the states and the people and toward the federal government.
It is time to #StandUpAndFight. It is time to #StandForPrinciples and #MakeDCListen
