Man About to Take His Own Life When Police Officer Went Above the Call of Duty [video]

A North Carolina police officer on his way home from work took the opportunity of a lifetime to make a real difference.

A traffic camera captured the scene, unbeknownst to the officer.

The officer saw the man hanging onto the bridge railing, about to jump. He walked up to and extended a hand, the man took it and climbed to safety. Little did he know at the time that safety would include a big bear hug.

Good job officer Hicks!
