“The Hill” so Desperate to Get Trump They’re Comparing Him to Nazis and Communists

The Hill, a decidedly left leaning publication that focuses on Washington politics, appears desperate to “get” Donald Trump.

Here’s their latest headline:

Trump appears to oppose free speech

Oh no! The mean man is going to take away your free speech.

The author of this pathetic hit piece, Luke Harold, jumps right into the deep end of the pool with weights on his feet.

Nazi Germany made sure its media amounted to little more than government-exalting propaganda.

The Chinese government, earlier this year, threw a journalist in jail for having the audacity to leak pro-democracy, pro-free speech, pro-civil rights content.

Compared to Nazis who took over the media and the Chinese Communists who filter EVERYTHING, including their citizens ability to do a Google search. Nice Luke, nice.

They’re whining about stories they’ve pushed before that got zero traction. I guess when you’ve found a loser meme you just keep hammering it.

There was Trump not allowing a reporter from the Des Moines Register into his events because he didn’t like an editorial. Then there’s the Megyn Kelly flap.

They’re hauling out Chris Dodd, the former Senator from Connecticut and drinking buddy of Ted Kennedy, who was more famous for doing a Waitress Sandwich with Kennedy that for anything he did as a Senator.

“When the public’s right to know is threatened, and when the rights of free speech and free press are at risk,” former Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd (D) once said, “all of the other liberties we hold dear are endangered.”

So Chris, how about that Waitress Sandwich? We have a right to know. I’ll ask because I know the boytoy known as Luke Harold won’t.

Let’s get serious here for just a moment. LukieBoy is concerned because The Donald barred a reporter from one event and appears to have used some influence to make nice-nice with Fox News after the debate scuffle. Here’s his comment about that.

Trump lashed out at Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly after Kelly, during the first Republican primary debate, asked him about his history of calling women names such as “pigs” and “fat slobs.” It was definitely a question that begged to be asked of a presidential candidate who did, in fact, say those things.

But The Donald threatened to abstain from any future Fox News debate because he “didn’t think they were fair,” he told CNN. The Sunday after the debate, Trump conspicuously excluded Fox when he granted several phone interviews to T.V. news shows, several other news outlets pointed out.

Boo hoo.

It’s not like Trump shut down the press by refusing to have press conferences. Like one candidate we can think of. Oh, and the amount of criticism that particular candidate has received from The Hill?

Or maybe they might take notice that the press, when reporting on the Obama administration, reads their reports from DNC press releases.

Then there was the time when the Senate Democrats put together a bill to rewrite the First Amendment.

Saying the foundations of democracy are threatened, Senate Democrats took the first step Tuesday to rewrite the First Amendment, holding a hearing to rally support for their proposed constitutional change that would give government the power to ban all spending on political campaigns.

The Hill’s complaint about that? See above. Chris Dodd? Heh. They did close the article with this gem though.

So how can America seriously consider a presidential candidate who’s bent on subduing any speech he doesn’t agree with?

If it wasn’t for double standards the Left wouldn’t have any standards at all.
