As a person of the female gender, I have to say that I agree wholeheartedly with the ‘against the flow’ stance I have taken myself on why I love Trump. Many so-called experts and pundits have said that I, as a woman, should be repulsed by Donald Trump – but I am not.
I am the first to admit that while watching Trump onstage from the media area of CPAC, I had my doubts. I didn’t think he was serious. His brash manner, at first, offended me.
Then, I saw the rest of the candidates.
With the exception of Governor Perry, no one stirred my soul. It was tired, plain rhetoric spouted a billion different ways. I was not inspired. I was not excited. I did not fall in love with anyone.
The more I thought, the more I thought, why not Trump? Why NOT someone who isn’t afraid? Someone who is passionate about making the hard choices we need to make for the economy to come back, someone unafraid to speak blunt truths?
Why not make America great again?
The Conservative Tribune reports a recent Zogby poll shows Trump in the lead with 20 percent of the vote, followed by former governor Jeb Bush at 16 percent, with Gov. Scott Walker, Sen. Rand Paul, and Dr. Ben Carson rounding out the top five.
Bush edged out Trump among moderate GOP male voters, but Trump is winning among self-proclaimed conservatives and independents.
The most amazing part of the new poll though is the “huge lead” Trump has over Bush among the highly coveted women vote — 26 to 10 percent.
This actually isn’t the first poll to show Trump’s popularity among women voters, a reality that is in direct contradiction to the predictions of “experts” that his brash style would be unappealing to women.
According to The Washington Times, a recent poll by the Washington Post and ABC showed Trump garnering 23 percent of GOP women voters, compared to 16 percent for Walker and only 8 percent for Bush.
One possible explanation for Trump’s popularity among women voters is that he is a family man, despite his prior history of rocky relationships and messy divorces.
While he is now married to his third wife, Trump has an excellent relationship with his five children and all seven of his grandchildren, several of whom joined him on stage when he announced his candidacy over a month ago.
Another possibility, of course, is that Trump’s brash and outspoken style actually appeals to American women, many of whom are just as frustrated as men by the poll-tested, consultant-approved statements most politicians repeat ad nauseam.
Well, my preference has nothing to do with how many wives or kids that the man has. I like him because I am plain old tired of the status quo- and you should be too. Don’t be suckered into a spineless RINO or voting for a former president’s wife. Look for someone with a pair and vote wisely. Our future depends on it.
