It looks like another episode of police violence, this time in Boston and this time the FBI was involved in the shooting as well as local cops. It was an unarmed black man, just waiting for the bus.
From the Facebook site of the brother of the man who was shot we get this report.
Your prayers are requested:
This morning while at the bus stop in Boston, my youngest brother Usaama Rahim was waiting for the bus to go to his job. He was confronted by three Boston Police officers and subsequently shot in the back three times. He was on his cell phone with my dear father during the confrontation needing a witness. His last words to my father who heard the shots were:
I can’t breathe!
While at the hospital, Usaama Rahim died!
Imagine that, headed for work confronted by three police officers, talking to your dad trying to explain what’s happening, and then being shot in the back. Apparently the Boston police haven’t heard that Black Lives Matter.
Needless to say the cops are doing their best to spin their way out of this. As it turns out the dead man was the brother of a former local imam in Boston. Here’s an account of the spin.
“Usaama Rahim was murdered this morning by the Boston PD (The brother of Oakland’s Lighthouse Mosque Imam Ibrahim Rahim) and instantly the media recycles the FBI narrative that he was under investigation as a “terror-suspect.” The FBI would say that and has said that about any American Muslim they murder because we are all ‘under surveillance.’ Almost 500 police murders in this country in 2015, what a racist and disgusting place this is.”
Okay, you got the idea by now.
In fact, the dead man had been under surveillance for quite some time. At this point in the investigation we don’t know for how long or for what. But the fact is that local police and FBI approached him Tuesday morning to talk to him. The officers weapons were holstered when they approached.
As the officers approached the suspect pulled a large military style knife and advance toward the officers. They told him to drop the knife and when he didn’t they drew their weapons and shot.
Reportedly the incident was captured on video. It will be interesting to see how the imam and the “black community” spin the video, but one thing we are sure of, they’ll do their best.
We are interested in the details of this case for a variety of reasons. First of all, initial unsubstantiated reports indicate the dead man had been making threats against law enforcement. He was reportedly going to be questioned about “terrorist related information.”
At this point we don’t know whether the dead man was a member of or even attending his brother’s former mosque.
And finally, given all the recent news about NSA eavesdropping we are interested to know whether any of the intelligence was gathered through any of the programs that were recently shut down by Congress.
We are sure that the usual suspects in the Islamic community – CAIR and the Boston Mosque – will have a media field day. We’ll be reporting on their response.
