Whoops! One robber found out the hard way that he wasn’t going to get a quick score. A group of three young men decided that they weren’t going to be victimized and quickly turns the tables on this wanna-be criminal, and looks like he got a free ride to the hospital out of that- and then county jail:
A would-be robber was taken to the hospital after he was bloodied and bruised by the people he tried to rob, according to Norfolk Police. Police were called to the 800 block of W. 43rd Street early Saturday morning to check out a report of a man with a gun.
“Upon arrival, it was discovered that three men were walking in the area, when a suspect approached and brandished a handgun,” police said. “The suspect then demanded their property and belongings. The men attempted to fight back and were able to detain the suspect until police were called. Upon police arrival, the suspect was immediately taken into custody and the handgun secured without further incident.”
Kentrail H. May, 21, is charged with three counts attempted robbery, three counts use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count malicious wounding. May and the would-be robbery victims all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The group that detained May was made up of Old Dominion University students, WTKR reported. May is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
What a jerk. I am glad he got the beatdown he deserves plus is serving time in jail. This guy deserves zero mercy and I hope the judge throws the book straight at him. Max time, no time off for ‘good’ behavior. The guys who beat him up? Well, I would like to extend a personal congratulations to them for a job well done, and hey, if you’re ever in my neck of the woods, look me up, and I’ll buy you a beer.
